  1. John Farrell, their ex pitching coach. Ummm, aren't you forgetting his time with the Blue Jays, the only managing experience he has? Or does only BoSox time count? Not at all. I was just referring to the fact that he had been the BoSox ex-pitching coach. No slight intended.
  2. Thought that was a top paper. Hemingway would not be happy.
  3. He was a classy individual, an icon. Stan the Man.
  4. Did not know this station but it's a real shame to lose a station like this. Must have been a shock to expect one thing and get another.
  5. John Farrell, their ex pitching coach.
  6. I seem to remember that "unimpressive" team kicking the 49ers' asses this season. How soon you forget. Yeah, WAY back in week six when they actually looked like a winning team. Seahawks did, too. The Niners, however, are in the NFC Championship game. You have to wonder how the G men did it because the last half of the season they were awful.
  7. If anybody has, tell where to find him. He owes me money. Look in the mirror?
  8. Manti, meet Lance.
  9. Apparently, the Mets worked out Brian Wilson and were not impressed, according to the NY Post, http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/mets/source_mets_not_impressed_with_wilson_TBaQYJ5tlbTX7sSpVH8CcL
  10. You can't go wrong on this one.
  11. Two of the weirdest ones have to be sing along with Millard Fillmore and There's No One as Irish as Obama.
  12. How about the look when the White Sox wore shorts. My son didn't believe me when I told him that.
  13. As far as I know, the debt isn't passed onto your heirs, unlike times passed. It's all typical of the live now, pay later mentality.
  14. I just contributed a small amount as well. Hopefully, they raise all they need.
  15. Kind of a silly article. Nothing particularly new. They make good fries though
  16. I saw this video abut Sally White's record store in Westport, Connecticut. It's nice to know that there are still some record stores around. The only one in my area is down in Princeton. http://vimeo.com/56950729
  17. Well intentioned, but not too good.
  18. Also "don't score too soon". Although 31 seconds left should have meant a Seattle win. My son always told me, "the prevent defense prevents you from winning"!! I thought they had won the game when they scored. Passing up that easy three in the first half when they chose to go for the fourth down may have cost them. Still, that Wilson kid put on an amazing show.

Just listened to it. It's worth the subscription.
  20. Well.....I reckon having King Oliver and Bob James on the same label was too much even for Sony! Too much for me!
  21. According to the story the back catalog will still be handled by the Sony Legacy division.
  22. Sorry but although Vic Power may have been good the best was Keith Hernandez, and Mattingly is not that far behind.
  23. Well, would be nice to listen to. Tried registering but can't make the app work.
  24. In today's New York Times, the case for Fred McGriff, "Buried far down the list of Hall of Fame vote-getters released Wednesday is one who didn’t capture any headlines for his lack of votes. That’s only fitting because during his career, his achievements were increasingly buried beneath headlines touting big-name players with big muscles. When it comes to the Hall of Fame, Fred McGriff is perhaps the quintessential victim of the way the game was corrupted by the players, players union, owners and the commissioner." Here is the full article, http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/11/quirks-of-the-game-the-case-for-fred-mcgriff/?ref=sports
