  1. To me the guy is a god and I just don't get some of the criticism here but to each his own I suppose. I've seen him in concert twice and am seeing him in mid June here in NJ. Can't wait. The Ronnie Scott album shows his awesome powers at their finest (I suppose no one will say I'm a spammer ) and can't wait to pick up his new one.
  2. A lot of people do stupid shit. No way I'm getting up there. You have to remember that someone actually built it
  3. Pretty sad I'll have to agree but not too surprising, considering the kind of junk we see all over the place.
  4. Allen, A belated Happy Birthday to you!
  5. I only read the blurb but to equate rap with jazz is a joke; one is music, the other is the absence thereof; beauty versus ugliness.
  6. Great stuff Alex from your trio. I enjoyed it very much.
  7. There was awhile there where Savoy was re-issuing some great stuff. I think I picked them all or most of them up. Unfortunately, it all ended too quickly.
  8. Lost a few Cds (any maybe my mind) but losing a box or even misplacing that's hard. I did sit on a Mosaic once Nearly had heart failure.
  9. Perhaps he meant that you're only paying a per cd price as opposed to the whole set price.
  10. The number doesn't much bother me one way or the other. I wouldn't think it matters either if you're selling the set, unless maybe you have number one.
  11. It's hard to believe that we and that person could in the same breath be called Americans. My congrats to those who luckily can say they are not.
  12. Doesn't look anything like one of the BN covers.
  13. I don't know about Girardi but Jeter and Mariano aren't going anywhere. They will be Yankees for the rest of their careers and that's the way it should be.
  14. Wow, what a great deal.
  15. I will pre-order this one as well.
  16. ??? Any number of threads on this forum (and elsewhere) seem to indicate quite the contrary. At least to me. They're not spending enough money That would seem to be the answer because for some reason net revenues are not exceeding expenditures.
  17. Closing facilities and cutting employees costs are two favorite ways for companies to cut costs. Warehouses eat up rent, insurance and taxes. By outsourcing order fulfillment, they're probably saving a lot of money, including employee costs, which include salaries and benefits. Whether that's enough, who knows. They also are apparently in a hobby where people are not spending a lot of money. Other hobbies are thriving even in this economy and unfortunately for Mosaic jazz afficionados are not spending money.
  18. I have to agree that justification was pretty lame; almost like a PR person wrote it.
  19. I think there are more important things to worry about although I can't say I'm crazy about it. If she did it for the money, considering the amount of money the Lennon Estate must have or had have, now, that's an issue.
  20. Sounds fascinating Allen.
  21. Sorry to hear that Jeff. I guess my son's school system is lucky (at least so far). In sixth grade he was part of the school band (clarinet). However, people are making noise about cutting costs here and there. I guess people don't understand how important music is.
  22. Me too. Big Happy, Birthday Al! Me three Al!
  23. Brad

    Neil Young

Don't have enough of his stuff but his work in Springfield is excellent as is the Fillmore East Cd. He has a very distinctive voice that has managed to survive after all these years.
  24. Congratulations on your impending marriage!
