  1. The voice of reality has spoken, unfortunately.
  2. I bought this a couple of weeks ago from Chuck. Thanks Chuck! Really enjoyed it. It's spinning at work (shhhhh!) as we speak.
  3. Just what we need another Miles box.....
  4. Brad

    Lon is just a romantic!
  5. Great ad! Loved it.
  6. Hey, I wouldn't let that stop you, it's never stopped Allen Lowe. hehe Ouch!
  7. Daltrey has no voice anymore.
  8. Amen brother, always loved his sound.
  9. The Cleveland is a great CD. Think it's definitely worth the money.
  10. You must love vocals and inaudible instruments. I recall when looking at the post release mayhem on the SH board that this title was the unanimous best of all the lot re: stereo vs mono. hmmm. I prefer the mono but have no trouble with the stereo version.
  11. I bought one for work which is small but does the job, a JBL that I got at Apple.
  12. Excellent! I feel better already, Dan....thanks Wow! You guys acutally agree on something
  13. There's another one supposed to be coming in on Wednesday I heard.
  14. We barely got an inch in Nw'ern NJ.
  15. I've heard that Damon is still angling to get back. Not sure how that would work. Meanwhile the stupid Mets admit they never gave J.J. Putz a physical before they traded for him last year in a -- guess what -- shortened year due to injuries. Please sell this team and get someone in there who can run it.
  16. Couldn't agree more. Used to love to listen to her at Shea, before they started with the rock music between innings. Passing of an era.
  17. If I had to pick two, it would be the Desmond and Hodges dates. Best for my money.
  18. Another thumbs up on these two discs.
  19. I'm definitely a b). A friend calls me "the guy who likes the dead guys."
  20. Based on their relative lack of activity, it's apparent that the Madoff scandal must have hit the Mets ownership hard. What they've done this year is a far cry compared to the winter of 2005 when they developed a good team. The signing of Bey was just a sop to the fans/media to show they were doing something. That contract is heavily backloaded and if finances get desperate I'm sure they can trade him. If all this is true, they should just sell the team to someone who will run it properly.
  21. When I was a kid, listened to a lot of my parents broadway musical albums and tin pan alley stuff. Listened to a lot of rock of course, particularly the Stones and didn't know it at the time but that's when I started to like the Blues. Gravitated to a lot of Blues, particularly in the 80s, which eventually led to Jazz. I started listening to some Duke, more classical trad stuff and then one day I decided to get bolder and picked up the RVG of Moanin. It was like my brain exploded. Had never heard anything like that more and started exploring, broadening my horizons, found the old BN Forum and here we are
  22. Wonder what Rosemary Woods would think?
  23. This was a "Jass" label lp, which makes this another boot of a boot. Formerly JAS 4005 Harry "Sweets" Edison (tp) Sonny Criss (as) Teddy Edwards (ts -5) Hampton Hawes (p) Leroy Vinnegar (b) Bobby Thomson (d) Joe Turner (vo -3,4) "Memoriy Lane Club", Los Angeles, CA, January, 19701. Memoriy Lane Blues 2. Blues For J.L. 3. Feeling Happy 4. Shake, Rattle And Roll 5. Teddy's Blues http://www.youtube.c...h?v=96SakRrz8Z0 and there's more... These guys are blowin! Great clip. Cd is a little pricey though.
  24. It really was outrageous, particularly when they got away with that low hit to the knees late in the game. I'm with you -- here's hoping that the Saints get a humiliating shellacking in Miami!! I'm sure they will be crushed.
  25. I came across this article in the NY Times regarding the "Three Facebook Settings Every User Should Check Now." After reading this, I changed my settings. Please see http://www.nytimes.com/external/readwriteweb/2010/01/20/20readwriteweb-the-3-facebook-settings-every-user-should-c-29287.html?em
