  1. Man, it's about time, Leo go his due. Thanks for the info Kevin.
  2. I don't even open them, just delete them. They're all hoaxes.
  3. I'd like to know if there's more of those Great Jazz Trios out there. At that age, I'm not wondering about ragin' against the light. Just takin it easy would be my motto.
  4. It's not only the Republican look, it's the corporate look. Give me a bunch of non-conformists anyday.
  5. It's no bid deal in my book. Heck, they'll be so busy at the wedding nyway that it's probably better it comes afterwards.
  6. A belated one to our leader, founder and yes, savior!
  7. That's amazing. I wouldn't think a story like this would have repeated itself. They'd probably die is right when they see what the whole world, not just Japan, has become.
  8. I don't think all of them TOCJs but many are. I have the Dizzy At the Village Vanguard Span. Blue Note and since I've never seen that in cd, I'm hanging on to it.
  9. Tony, Thanks for posting these. I'll be sticking in bids for all 3 of these gems.
  10. Here's some more: Sonny Berman - Jazz Immortal 1946 - Esoteric Records ES-532 (Venus Records 79505) Al Haig Quartet – Period SPL 1104 (Venus TKCZ-79501) Al Haig – Jazz Will-o-the-Wisp – Esoteric (Venus TKCZ-79529) Eddie Higgins - Music of Jobim: Speaking of Love - Venus (TKCV-35132) Art Pepper with the Sonny Clark Trio - Holiday Flight - Lighthouse 1953 - Venus Records (TKCZ-79005)
  11. I don't believe that's the Mosaic way. That would just make them like anybody else.
  12. Only regret is the Jones Lewis set but that went oop before I was a jazz fan so I'm not that upset. In that vein, would have loved to have the Shorty Rogers but not at today's prices.
  13. That's Paul Smith (listed as Irving Garner on the original LP) playing harpsichord. ← The only other harpsichord I've heard jazz wise is Artie Shaw's Grammercy Five Sessions. There it sounded ok. Here, I would have preferred piano.
  14. Well, contrary to my expectations, I just got around to listening to this. I'm not as enamored of this as Winchester Special but it is good. Lem just sounds so in the groove. Peagler's sound is interesting. I may be mistaken but I hear a Jackie Mac sound in there and Oliver Nelson what can you say, a nice round sound. Worth picking up even if it took me too long to listen to it.
  15. Don't think Bluesy Burrell got mentioned, on OJC. Nice cd with Hawk on it. Re Louis Smith, I think he's solid, had a couple of nice BNs and has done some good work for SteepleChase.
  16. To embellish, sales are there for a reason and if there isn't the reason, well, then....
  17. I'm not sure what a single disc would contain as it would be far too brief to have somebody's output or a theme.
  18. So Ron, if I move to Philly, you gonna build me a house for free ? All kidding aside, I've been down to that area of Pa a lot and it does have a lot to offer and seems very nice. Lots of open areas once you get west of the city. Of course, I could never switch team allegiances. There's just some things you can't do.

    Bird Lore

Give that man with a saxophone a kewpie doll! This a very nice cd by the way and when the kid does Salt Peanuts, it cracks you up.
  20. Let's see--how many Conference Championship games have the Giants or the Jets been in the last 4 years? The last time I looked the Jets and Giants have 3 Superbowls between them, the Igles = zilch. And let's see the phillies have won 1 World Series and the Yankees and Mets between them have won....oh never mind, I don't have enough fingers on my hands
  21. Ron, They'd at least want to see the great sports "teams" you guys have

    Bird Lore

Ok, Bird fans, on what cd does Bird's son appear on and what song did he make a contribution on? Hint, it was vocal.
  23. Hans is right. This shouldn't be here, whether or not it's OOP. Maybe this thead should be removed. BTW, Ron, yeah he's moving to Philly just to stalk you. That's his main ambition in life. He's got nothin' else to do
  24. That's easy. For me, it was the record that contained Koko. Made me fall in love with Bird.
