  1. Things that are listed as All Sold Out or OOS in the BN store come back in stock. As to the Lighthouse LP set, since it’s said to be limited I’d be surprised if they make additional copies beyond the amount they said they’d produce. If they do, fans might be up in arms.
  2. Someone on Hoffman posted that they would be Morning Glory, a 1973 concert at the Teatro Gram Rex in Buenos Aires; and Inner Spirit, a 1979 concert at the Teatro General San Martin in Buenos Aires.
  3. 80 is definitely a lot. I think I have around 30. Why don’t you like Marty?
  4. They seem to keep finding more and more Evans recordings. It’s turned into a mini business. However, the latest one, Behind the Dikes, was very good so I’m not complaining too much. Did you listen to the latest one. I liked it a lot.
  5. However, they had little choice in getting rid of Jones. ***** The Uniform Cool of Charlie Watts
  6. Charlie Watts: A Life in Pictures
  7. Very, very sad news. RIP. Charlie Watts, the Rolling Stones Drummer and Inimitable Backbone, Dead at 80
  8. The price on Amazon has gone down to $66.
  9. By under contact, do you mean with Oticon? I don’t know the answer but I don’t think so.
  10. I’ve been having ear problems for years. I developed tinnitus in 2002 and when I get a cold it invariably becomes a sinus infection. I’ve used the same ENT for years and when it was time to get hearing aids he referred me to someone in the medical practice he was a part of. The audiologist said, yup, you need them. She recommended Oticons and that’s what I purchased. I didn’t look around because I trusted what they had to say. I suppose I could have gone to another audiologist for other makes but didn’t feel the need to.
  11. Sad news indeed. RIP.
  12. That’s the approach I’m following.
  13. End of a tradition. The company that’s taking over is trying to get its tentacles into every portion of sports marketing.
  14. Crowded places are definitely difficult.
  15. End of an era. Topps has lost its license to make baseball cards. Topps loses its licensing deal for baseball cards and tears up its plan to go public
  16. I’ve had Oticons since 2017 and I’m generally happy with them. I think they are the Oticon Opn model. They’ve improved my ability to hear and enjoy music. Until I started using them frequently, music I listened to at home sounded muffled. The car is a different story because you’re in an enclosed space. Without them I can’t hear the TV or what my family is saying too well. Do they have drawbacks? Yes. I find I have to change the battery frequently but it’s not difficult and when I’m driving if I get a phone call, they don’t interact well with the car’s answering system. When I purchased them Apple was the only cell phone where you could control the volume. I don’t know if that’s been expanded to Android. They do take some getting used to. One last note. Since we live in a masked age, you’ve got to be careful in taking off your mask or you could easily lose them. And, yes, they are pricey. I think mine cost about 5K and insurance only paid $500.
  17. Burning’, also on Argo, which does have Barry Harris, is a good one.
  18. Sonny was always ready for a duel. Like the comfort reference. Just don’t get the mathematics reference. That almost says he did it by formula, by rote. That’s not Sonny, to me, unless Hutch meant he had a formula and stuck to it.
  19. Awhile ago I did some research on John Board. Couldn’t find a ton but did come across his obit. He was a graduate of famed DuSable HS and had a varied career. JOHNNY BOARD, 70; BLUES, JAZZ GREAT ON TENOR SAXOPHONE
  20. Tune Up and Constellation was my introduction to Sonny and what an intro that was! I found all his Muse records to be of high quality. Of course, not everything else was. One of my favorite Sonny records is At the DJ Lounge, an example of his playing with a local band. Maybe sometimes he went through the motions but not that night.
