i knew a guy a few yrs ago who was his grandson, he was legit- but he said he lost contact with jayne as she was in a home at that point, i told him god you should call jayne and say hi, say hi for me too! lol IS there any proof hank ever played w/ monk at all? has this whole monk-mobe thing been blown out of proportion? im starting to thing it was a big misundertanding. the BN bio i googled for hank does mention monk.....but i still dont know....

yea its hard to get in there i bet- do u need to 'plead your case' to them? would it be easier to view if it was at like ucla film archives oh and my main question: why is a BBC tape in America anyway, was it shown in US or somethin? i dont get it dog why isnt this happening but in bbc archives in england

yea dog until recently esp w/ blue note but other labels too i didnt realise just how much of my favorite hard bop is "bitches brew" style edited. i first started realising it when the mobley mosaic had a whole screwy set of peraramaters for one session.....then more recently in a bob cranshaw interview, he goes thru the recording process of 'the sidewinder', were the use of editing factored big in his story. did this start in the mid 50s? if you go back a little further i dont think they did this, no? like say on jazz lps 1950-55,
