You know- if you stare at the picture for about 20 seconds-it starts looking like a snake or some sort of hideous monster........ I remember it as a kid on WPIX- my Dad had it on in my house since we were fireplaced challenged.... I remember a video selling on Ebay for $10.00. I have my wood stove going this evening so that's our yule log......I should tape that....anyone want a copy??

Thanks for all your responses!! I emailed Mosaic- here is their response: "The 4th CD of the Jacquet set was licensed from BMG and per the contract their imprint appears on the CD pressing." Again- I don't care what they put on the CD- the music is where it's at, but to the uninformed purchaser- I guess he wants to make sure everything is legit- that's fine by me. Mosaic is such a wonderful company.......I wish more companies were like them, with respect to customer service! Everyone be safe the next few weeks!! Thank you again- Mike

Happy Holidays!! I sold a Jacquet set on Ebay and the buyer received the set and asked this question: "A question though,in your offer you state they were bought directly from Mosaic, however, the number four cd is stamped BMG Direct. How is that. Thanks." Now I noticed this when I received the set but didn't pay it no mind..... Can anyone shed light on this?? Are your sets like this? Thanks!! Mike

Thank you everyone for your comments! I wanted to give the buyer an answer, with the perspective of understanding what he has to deal with. I will send him an email requesting him to open a paypal account, then he can pay me. I sent him an invoice from paypal and I copied myself- and it arrived in Italian. Again- thank you so much for your help! I'll update this thread as I find out info. Be safe- Mike

Hello All- I sold a box set on Ebay and the winning bidder is from Italy. No problem for me. This is the first thing the buyer has bought outside of Italy. I sent him a receipt from paypal with a total in USD and requested that he pay me with paypal. He sent an email back asking this: ____________ 1) I need a serial number of your paypal for the transfer of money? 2) I have a postpay, it's all right? ____________ I don't know what the above questions mean..... I'm working with him the best I can but I think we're at a standstill. I want to send the set to him and will work as long as I need to to complete this transaction. Can someone (preferrably from Italy) suggest a course of action for the buyer to pay me? I'm somewhat ignorant of payment choices from countries other than the US and I'd like to learn. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Mike

Do You Collect Anything ?

Old telephones, preferably Western Electric, with some Kellogg, Automatic Electric and Stromberg Carlsons. From wooden wall phones to candlesticks, to desk sets. I find them at auctions and flea markets, clean and rewire them, and there they sit in my home. Most work- I installed a modular plug on them. A few I have plugged in around the house and I switch them out every now and then to get a different look. Some I've given away to family and friends. I have a few old radios: A Truetone and a Zenith Tombstone with the Black Dial are among the collection. -
I took my annual sojurn to see Little Feat last week and was quite impressed with him- he was a surprise at the show. I have a soundboard recording of the show and I was listening to it and his interplay with the band including Bill Payne, Paul Barrere was great. Can anyone comment on Ron??

Hardbop: The next house over has a horse- he has about 20 acres for the horse to roam around. When we moved out here, seems everyone asked us if we're getting a horse (answer = no, or not until my daughter is a lot older and she can take rae of it). We have 12 acres- 6 of it is woods- to the left of the picture of the front of the house. Picture is taken from the county road in front of the house. Speaking of cutting grass- you're looking at him.....takes 4-5 hours on a riding mower to cut it. Takes about 1.5 hours to cut the front...then I have the sides, back yard and the "way back" where we have a garden and fruit trees. About 2-3 acres in all- the rest of the open area is a meadow where I maintain a walking path through the wildflowers and the bluebird boxes. It's very peaceful and quiet...real quiet with a light snowfall..right now it's loud from all the katydids in the trees at night, but when the first frost hits and kills all the chirping insects it is so quiet, it's eerie. My mom came to visit and she a city girl, born/raised in Philly and it was too quiet for her. If you like astronomy- it's so dark out here!! Ironic thing is: I grew up at the Jersey shore (Margate City) 2 blocks from the beach with houses on top of each other and traffic everywhere and I consider myself a "city person", yet I live in the country. I love going to Manhattan and Philly and everything associated with it, but I do love living here. My wife and I consider ourselves very fortunate to live here- and have the opportunity to raise our little girl in a setting such as this!

I'm narrowing down my Mosaics to big band, vocals and pre-bop jazz, and one I would like to have is the Jones/Lewis set. Anyone have one for sale or trade? Thanks- Mike

I used to run home from grade school in 4th grade or so to watch these- they would come on at 3:00PM. Been waiting for these cartoons to appear on TV- they're now on DVD! Anyone buy this?? Going to buy this??

Whoa- just discovered this thread! I enjoy the DPs- my favorite is Englishtown- forget which number..... DP30 looks good also- as does 29. I like them playing in the background- they're great music when I'm doing projects around the house: painting, electrical woodwork, etc. Have to pick up a few more soon......darn! the Woody Herman Mosiac is up for pre-order!! Oh well.....
-
I heard that's a good one- superior sound.

I'm more interested in the Woody Herman.
