  1. I see advertised the Complete Three Stooges shorts on 40+ DVDs on a few web sites from$65.00 to $110.00- they're all in chronologcal order. Anyone have this? If so- how is the picture and audio? Thanks for your help!
  2. Good news indeed!! One issue solved....now for some moderators......I like the global feel- we are a world-wide community!
  3. You know- I don't blame Jim.....family come first. Frankly I'm surprised he did it this long. I don't visit as much because of a few individual dampened the positive vibes for me. It would be nice to have a few trusted people moderate each forum and it can be watched more closely for potential trouble. I visit ford-trucks.com and each forum has a moderator. Regarding cost- if every member did a one-time donation of $25.00, that'll keep it going. I've met some very nice people here and I have grown as a person because of them. You all are a part of my life and I will never forget it. Jim and Organissimo- come and visit Richmond, VA!! Or at least DC where perhaps I can see you if I get approval from my wife! See y'all around! Mike Kelly Powhatan, VA mgkelly@deq.virginia.gov
  4. After years of dial-up internet, DSL is now available where I live!! I'm deep in the country in Central VA. I'm getting it next week. With DSL this opens up a world of possibilities for downloading Dead shows. What are your experiences using DSL with downloading purchased shows from Dead.net and from other sites? How much time does DSL take? I've never downloaded shows before so I'll have to bone up on the different types of file types, etc. Any imput would be appreciated! Mike
  5. I'm 46- my wife is 50. Over the years we drove Dodge, Ford and GM vehicles. After our latest problems with the GM vehicles we bought Toyotas: a Corolla and Sienna. They are very dependable, have high resale and are superior vehicles, compared to others in their respective classes. We will drive Toyotas for years to come. If I buy an "American" car- it will be a vehicle from the 1970s and earlier; I have a 1967 F-100 pickup which runs real strong. We also have a 1979 VW Bug- which is a restoration project- you can't kill those at all. Interestingly-almost all the pickups around here are mostly Fords.
  6. Happy Birthday Lon!! From one State Worker to another....
  7. Maybe........I first saw them in 1980 in Philly (Abacab tour) then the the following summer at Forest Hill Stadium in Queens NY- they had the EWF horns and did Supper's Ready and other oldies (pre-Lamb) and every tour thereafter in Philly- the last at Vet Stadium during the We Can't Dance tour- 1991?? gotta look up my ticket stubs.
  8. I'm debating whether to see them in DC in September- although 85.00+ per ticket is steep....I can buy the new box set- it'll last longer.
  9. Wow- that's pretty cool! Do well!!
  10. I only watch Baseball Tonight and any baseball games. That "Who's Now" is the stupidest thing going- closely followed by the Budweiser Hot Seat. My son loves Sportscenter and he's 25 so it's geared to his generation- not to mine. Too overwhelming in graphics, sounds etc. Just the facts. The announcers seem too chummy to the athletes- no disconnect. Probably why Dan Patrick is leaving?
  11. I'm waffling on the Piano Box. Is it all the same- like MUSAK or is there variation? I like piano dominated music but the money is keeping me back.....but I could spring for it if needed.
  12. Surprised to see the Herman set again- so I ordered it........I like the Big Band Mosaics and I had this one time but sold it to pay for engine repair to my truck. Glad I'm getting it again.
  13. I priced out 2 box sets- to mail both to me is $8.50.....1 is 7.60......I wonder how much to mail the set USPS to Australia? Certainly won't be $78.00!!!
  14. Have someone from the States buy an extra one with their order, then have them ship it to you. The Dead store is only 1 hour from where I live- but they won't allow me to pick it up. I'm going to ask a few more times.
  15. This one went fast- I missed it.... My Millie is on Ebay- ending tonight
  16. I really enjoy this set- I like her singing and it personifies an era that is important in the development of female jazz singers. I'm a pre-bop, 1930s jazz fan. Unfortunately I'm selling mine on Ebay- I need some body work done on a car and this is my way of financing it- so have a look at it if you're interested in this set. Mildred is underappreciated!!
  17. There's a rumor somewhere that she does...... why not buy the set to find out?? And a lot of other songs with their alternate takes.....
  18. Click here Or look under seller VAJERZY Hurts me to sell this but I need some bodywork done on my 1979 Volkswagen Beetle. Thanks for looking- Mike
  19. I started my first honeybee hive this year for the first time- been wanting to do it for a few years now. I sold a Mosaic set to finance it- big start-up cost. I have one hive I started last Friday- got my 3 lbs of bees and the queen and transferred them to their new home. I'm feeding them sugar water until there's more flowers.....they eat a quart every three days. On Wednesday I'll check to see if the queen has been released from her cage. They will build the honeycomb and eventually start rearing young and polinating everything and collect nectar within 1-2 miles. About May 3 I'm getting a nuc (nuclear) colony- one that's already established with queen, workers, brood, honey and pollen so I'll have 2 to work with. I have 12 acres- half open field and no nearby neighbors so I believe they will do well. It's been fun so far! I have friends who are already placing their honey orders for the fall.....hopefully I'll have some to sell. I'm concerned also about the plight of the honeybees- we haven't seen much problem with the hives in the Richmond area- except for the crazy winter and spring weather where some hives died off. If I can figure out how to upload pictures- I'll add a few showing my hive.
  20. Happy Birthday!! Hope you're in the "April of Your Years!! (apologies to Sinatra)
  21. Excellent essay. Since I listen to XM mostly for sports- I'll get socked I believe. It's like our phone service here- we have Verizon and we didn't carry their long distance since we use a cell phone for that....well Verizon, the compassionate company they are, now have an all inclusive paockage with unlimited long distance for 39.99.....they could have done that before, but didn't. Since cell phones are cutting into their business- they now offer it.
  22. Happy Birthday To You!!!
  23. I have XM. I chose it for MLB and Air America and ACC sports. I couldn't care less about Howard Stern or the NBA and I couldn't care less about Sirius. I will like the merger solely for NFL football. Anti-trust?? There's only 2 companies and they mutually agree to merge- what's the problem? Now I believe my fees will eventually go up... It's a bummer because XM was kicking Sirius' butt with subscribers and stock price.
  24. Don't give up yet. It's only $41.00 and those 10 bids are 3 guys doing small bids. The JJ Mosaic historically hasn't sold real high over the original purchase price of $112.00 and there is no reserve. I've listened to it enough and hopefully it will help me purchase the Chu Berry set.
  25. My JJ Mosaic is on Ebay now- the auction ends Tuesday evening: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mosaic-J-J-Johnson-Com...1QQcmdZViewItem
