  1. I greatly prefer to hear the Wake material live in '73-'74. And Help>Slip!>Frank was a monster live too. You're right, both are fairly tame on album compared to how they did it on stage.
  2. You don't own a cell phone do you? I think at least 2 questions dealt with that which lowered my score. And here I thought maintaining a FB page and having played a video game made me so young. I'm at the young end of Boomerdom btw.
  3. Oh hot doggie. We need one of those jumping up & down emoticons. Oh well, this will do. and edited - Duh, I started reading at the top like the concert just happened. Thanks for the CD release news GA.
  4. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, a 6. I must be soaking in a jar filled with formaldehyde
  5. Huh, I was expecting a song to be used too so it's a little different at least. I guess I just used up all my angst about rock and selling out some time ago. The old & old dead folks didn't have the advantage of living during a time when it became acceptable to immediately sell your songs to The Gap and whatever car co. that Wilco did with their Sky Blue Sky album. Then again, they didn't have to deal with "music should be free" when they started too. Well, that's what the hippies wanted, but that only worked for crashing concerts. edit - got a kick out of how the announcement was from 03/03, given the title.
  6. See what getting away from the stereo can lead too! Congrats. Actually, I built up a stereo system at her place and another at mine, so nobody's perfect..... :blush2: Ahhhh...it must be true love.
  7. See what getting away from the stereo can lead too! Congrats.
  8. That's funny. On the funny "strange" spectrum try that with David Letterman. Seems some people are wondering if he's Jewish.
  9. Makes me wish Phil Hartman was alive too.
  10. And now he has his voice back. Computerized still, but the Edinburgh company had a deep database of his speaking voice to work with thanks to his shows. I can't imagine what that'd be like.
  11. May you drink finer than Schlitz! Happy Birthday!
  12. Loveless reissue release date to be perpetually changed to 6 months into the future, forever out of reach.
  13. You fuckin' bunch of cowboys.
  14. Okay, you saved yourself at the end with marginal Yankee content. I love the "kid can hit" stories of spring.
  15. Interesting, but it's clear (and they state as much) that this analysis only holds true for items that are plentiful and readily available. For scarce or collectible items, it's extremely doubtful that the same logic applies. I'd bet the results would have been quite different if the DVDs used in the study had been OOP titles that are highly in-demand by collectors and tend to be expensive when they appear on the secondary market. Yes, I doubt squatting works for OOP sets (hence my qualification), but it *might* work for in print used Selects if one were looking to just a few dollars and indifferent about new vs. used. Just thought I'd put it out there in case people are bidding on common items when they're finished setting up their Mosaic snipes.
  16. For what it's worth there was a study using DVD auctions on eBay that came to the conclusion that squatting and sniping had the same payoffs. The Mosaic community may act differently though. Sniping & Squatting
  17. No doubt jazzed about the awesome power of Beltre and youth of Cameron. At least last season Jeter proved a starting SS of the advanced age of the new BoSox one (35) can indeed win a World Series, so we don't have to hear that nonsense. And Dan, it's "Winn." Wynn was the "Toy Cannon." I don't know what kind of toy Randy is, but it's a lower caliber than that.
  18. Yeah, its a strange place to me also as its so Classic Rock oriented. Plus I will never get the folks who spend 200 grand on a stereo system to play Billy Joel remasters.
  19. I hope no such thing. I don't care one way or another what he smokes, though it does gp to show you that one can smoke pot and darn near every professional hitter in baseball. Good for him. As for the money, I think it's great when great players get payed the big money, and players with declining skills (as in Johnny Damon) have their paychecks nipped accordingly.
  20. Of the modern events I do like the snowboard cross. Women's is on tonight. But boy do I loathe the moguls. It's just a made up mishmash of nonsense, all the more painful if you've ever had knee surgery. If they insist in running the event instead of the knee spotted outfits they should just make the skiers put a walnut between their knees and if it's dropped you're out. All while having biathletes firing at them. Yup, I really don't like the event at all. As far as skating thus far in the little bit that's been on I've heard "The Way We Were," "Send In The Clowns" and "Theme From Love Story." Holy cow, I thought the sheet music for the last one had been destroyed. All that's left is for a couple of skaters to use "The Morning After" and "Ben" then they'll have a complete Jeopardy category of Nauseating Soundtrack Songs Of The Early '70s To Skate To. I can't wait until 2030 when skaters discovers jazz covers of Radiohead & Björk for their routines.
  21. Deepdiscount for $12.97 (free shipping) There may be better deals out there as that was the 1st place I looked.
  22. It's goofy no doubt about it, but when Charlie Parker's Verve Masters set was offered for $18 I bought another "lunch box." At least with Charlie the accordion is smaller.

    DORIS DAY

Ok, my bad, this video. @ 2:39 It's Jim "Mudcat" Grant. The picture was taken before the '65 World Series game in LA.
  24. What if I read the word? Or do I need (hiccup) to be reading this thread aloud? Irish coffee for breakfast!
  25. And even those who had to mow the yard today too.
