  1. If you really dig Speak No Evil I think you'd probably be better off getting the following titles before The All Seeing Eye: JuJu Night Dreamer Adam's Apple Etcetera Schizophrenia
  2. Azimuth refers to the angle between the tape head(s) and the tape medium.

    Junior Mance

Agreed! His solo on Light And Lovely from The Tenor Scene is one of those HELL YEAH, HALLELUJAH moments.
  4. Guess Paul Allen will have to step in and buy the Sonics now...since that's what it took to keep the Seahawks in Seattle. What is the friggin' problem with Key Arena anyway?
  5. Trust me...YOU ARE OPENING A CAN OF WORMS! Early Crimson is addictive.... P.S. - on second thought...mid Crimson, 80's Crimson & present day Crimson are ALSO addictive.
  6. Deleted due to utter stupidity....

    Idrees Sulieman

The "Outskirts of Town" session is KILLER...a little hidden gem. Sulieman is on fire, as is Jimmy Forrest, Jerome Richardson, Tiny Grimes, etc, etc.
  8. No, they are different. But the Xbox 360 comes with a component cable out of the box (you don't have to buy it seperately).
  9. Are you sure you'd know them if you heard them?
  10. I'm wondering what Oliver was referring to with the title "skull session".
  11. Count me amongst the Roach disciples, I can't get enough of this cat! I first heard him on the Ike Quebec dates and at the time my initial reaction was "too roller rink". I had assumed that he played in that style all the time. (Don't get me wrong, I love his playing on those records now). Then I heard Mo Greens Please and realized I was quite wrong. I don't bother comparing one artist to another anymore, so I won't try to rate Roach amidst all the other organ players of the time. He just delivers this "oh so easy" soulful, bluesy quality that just CANNOT be faked, you're either born with it (Turrentine, Blue Mitchell, John Patton) or you ain't. No pretentions, no bullshit...just groove. I like all of his recordings (I even dig My People, Soul People). I'm not sure about being able to pick favorites, but I guess I'd lean towards either Mo Greens Please or All That's Good.
  12. Well that ended up being a false report, he didn't fail the drug test...in fact he passed a second one as well. This is what scares me about the combination of tougher behavioral policy...and increased media scrutiny on players/teams/coaches. We're going to hear more and more false allegations.
  13. Hot, muggy and blech...
  14. Nice batch. Those Griffin's are stellar...check out the track Catharsis on Sextet which features a blistering duet between Griff & Wilbur Ware (one of my favorite jazz "moments").
  15. Just about spit out my coffee when I saw that title!
  16. It's cool that Shirley Scott placed so high on the list. I'm assuming her albums were relatively successful commercially? (Since there are about 1000 of them...LOL)

    Stanley Clarke

According to AMG (LOL) Clarke is on Black Unity along with Cecil McBee...I'm not home to check my copy.
  18. Oh yeah, good ole Otis on drums. Not sure what part of my brain I pulled Roker from...
  19. I'm seeing the same thing now....
  20. Is this the date with Mickey Roker on drums?
  21. But seriously... Blue Mitchell Mosaic!
  22. Black Sabbath - Black Box 1970 - 1978 Sorry Lon, I couldn't resist!
