I should clarify my earlier post: Joe G. introduced us to his friend Jamie last night at the GR gig. Executive summary: Boogaloo sister #1 (or is it #2??) = very attractive young lady.

One thought: from my perspective, if you think Chris was that far out of line, then that reflects on him (and him only) as opposed to the band and this forum in general. I (perhaps naively) believe that any reasonable person that finds this thread from Google would realize that.

Caught them last night in GR... well worth the trip. Some heavy snow on the way back. Live music FOUR times this week for me! I also saw the "Truth in Jazz" orchestra on Tuesday night -- a truly wonderful big band that plays locally. Will be going to a big high school Christmas production on Saturday, my daughter is in the choir, son in orchestra. It's been a good week!

It's difficult to put into words what this board has meant to me over the last four years... as a direct result of this community, I've met a whole bunch of great people (both in-person on "on-line"), been introduced to a truly amazing amount of great music, and learned so much, about jazz and other things as well. Thanks, Jim!

This year's (and last year's as well) Skid family Christmas tree was decorated to the sounds of Big Al's BFT... big , except, of course, for track #3. Highly recommended!

Grand Rapids Art Museum this afternoon: a clarinet-clarinet-bassoon trio, playing music from the Baroque and Renaissance eras. Very interesting!

Cake: b-sides and rarities I was never a big fan of this band, but this record has some great covers: "War Pigs", "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town", "Strangers in the Night" (!!). and my favorite: Barry White's "Never, Never Gonna Give You Up".

What does Foxworthy know about Michigan? Screw him, and that GIT-R-DONE guy, too! Here's some that I like: If you can identify an Ohio accent... If owning a Japanese car was a hanging offense in your home town. If you think Alkaline batteries were named after a Tiger outfielder.. If you bake with "soda" and drink "pop"... I'm only a very occasional EBay user, but I'd assume that since the auction ended early, at the "buy it now" price, that $100 for the Rivers set was regarded as a fair price. Either that, or the bidder wanted it REALLY bad, and didn't want to compete. If you decide to list that one on EBay, you might want to try it without a "buy it now" price, with a minimum reserve of $100. Another alternative (which I may try on a few of my own Mosaics) is to list it on this board first, at a "reasonable" price. I'm also struggling with how to determine that price to make it fair to both buyer and seller. Oh, and good luck on your project!

FWIW, a Rivers set sold on EBay on 11/9 for $100, "Buy it Now", without any other bids.
