Most are Verve MAster Editions so I would prefer going that route......The remastering of the set is late 80's/early 90's so improvement is certainly there on the VME issues.

Not Fresh Sound but RCA Spain. Although produced by Jori Pujol (of Fresh Sound "Fame") they are issued and marketed etc. by BMG Spain.

It has a issue date of Januari 2008 on Amazon.com. There's one copy used on Amazon.fr but I doubt this is real since Amazon.fr and Amazon.Uk have it as preorder only.

The 1954 session was recorded by RvG in Hackansack. The older session at the WOR studios by Doug Hawkins.

I have heard a complete BN tape session of Art Blakey. Not much of the unissued stuff is to be used. Much chatter and false starts. Also just bad solo's and breakdowns.
