  1. iTunes EU lists the extra track All I want as a single download for €0.99 and since my Japanese copy has the A Case of you as a bonus track there's no problem at all. The Amazon.Com version has both tracks as bonus so that's the route to go for anyone who doesn't have it already. So Bertrand what other 2 tracks are you refering at?
  2. I can't see on the SACD's which are recorded digitally but I guess your guess is right! Some are DSD remastered by Mark Wilder at Sony's studio's in NYC and others (the ones not released as seperates in the US) in Japan by a Japanese engineer. Headhunter is in 5.1 multichannel as well (not that I need that but for those who want to know...)
  3. Claude: yes I have them I'm afraid. Well it's a mixed bag. Some of them (the later ones) are recorded digitally (16 bit max I guess) so there the improvement is not present. I do feel however the analogue recordings benefit from the DSD mastering (and playback) but I'm a great fan of SACD in general so maybe I'm not qualified to discus the merrits of these!!!!
  4. Hello all, I'm looking for specific plastic cd covers which can hold all the paperwork as well and have a white cloth internal piece to avoid scratches when the cd is pulled out. Please give me a link where I can find those (preferably in Europe). Thanks in advance!!!
  5. Indeed no bonus tracks on any of the Herbie SACD's just reissued in Japan.
  6. Chuck: those 2 Mangelsdorff LP's on German CBS are still available on CD by the L+R label. Very nice if you're into Mangelsdorff (which I am).
  7. As Lon says. They have a great customer service department. I even don't have to ship the damaged items back.
  8. Boots? Didn't he mainly play baritone sax. How about our Dutch star altoist: Benjamin Herman (of the New Cool Collective and other bands besides his solo recordings).
  9. Speaking of these pointless 2-fers....did anyone buy one (or more) of these? They are newly remastered in 2007. Any opinions on the sound is appreciated.
  10. It's my guess these Jazz Originals use the same remasterings as the US ones (beside the newly remastered ones of course) so don't expect anything different. You do get a nice front cover which is worth something as well. The Drum album is a different matter. I didn't have that one so I took that one too (regardless of the remastering).
  11. A pity they didn't include the other unissued track from the same session on the Levy disc.......
  12. So which ones are newly remastered? Not the ELlington's?
  13. But Lon the Suites is also on the old Columbia CD Ellington Suites so why duplicate? For the cover? If they would issue the Nutcracker Suite as well seperately I would be tempted to do so but now.......
  14. For those who wondered....it a Chet Atkins CD....
  15. oh why didn't you say so earlier...Now it will be a matter of weeks when they hit the streets
  16. Business is so rotten......MC tries to find some extra material to fit in the Lighthouse 69 so let's hope he does find something and he can convince EMI to release it. So no fixed date yet.
  17. I'll check with MC when it will be issued.
  18. I might try a couple for fun. Exactly my thoughts.........I've ordered a DGG Chopin piano cd by Pollini (which I didn't already have) in this format so let's see what it is. Is there any information on this SHM-CD? I can't find anything in Google.
  19. It also contains the Gettin' into Somethin' LP and the bonus track from the One foot session "Brownie Speaks" hwich is also on the new Sony/BMG France issue (but not on all the other issues sofar).
  20. Don't forget the taxes and shipping. They become more than 10 euro's after all this. But still good value if you don't own them already.
  21. There appear to be 12 issues sofar. See www.jpc.de search for one of the Bailey's and click the label link. Correction....all the Brecker Brothers LP's are in this series (6 in total).
  22. Also some really cheap 5 cd sets of Monk and Ellington. And 2 Ellington cd's Drum is a Woman and Grieg Suite. Why is the Drum cd more expensive?
  23. For those who are wondering....the Hank Jones CD's are with John Patitucci and Omar Hakim (?)...... I'll pass these because of him....
  24. what stands PC for in this context? I only know the Personal Computer meaning.
  25. AL you must be confused with Peter and the WOlf. Virginia Woolf was neven a VBR. It was issued on cd in the late 80's and never again (not even in Japan) until recently.
