The same for me. I enjoyed the music you guys made but I understand too how difficult it is in the music biz and a crap economy doesn't help either. When it came out I didn't pay much attention, but I was in a brick & mortar browsing and I noticed that I was at Birdland for one set on one of the nights it was recorded. It was some really good music that night but I'm not sure any of that set made it onto the disc.

I'm a Yankee fan and the coverage in NYC is absurd- you'd think the Pope, Mother Teresa & Princess Di all died together on the same day! While he was a visionary in terms of setting up his own network and he tried to put the best possible team out there every year, he had a wicked dark side that seemed to overshadow what good he did.

I listened to about half of it and I had to stop because it was a lot of music to digest in one sitting. What I heard I liked.

I've been listening to a disc here and a disc there of the set and I was never a big Deadhead and this stuff is GREAT! I bought it because it was so enthusiastically recommended here and I'm glad I made the purchase. So much music, so little time...

many thanks for the recs, Lonson, I'll check 'em out. Well, I got 'Ghost Reveries', and while not much of a metal guy I like what I've heard of it. The sweep of the music and the dynamics remind me of Mars Volta somewhat. Very interesting so far and I have another disc coming.

I try not to listen on the radio- Sterling and Waldman are two of the worst announcers around, regardless of the sport. On the TV side, Michael Kay is frequently annoying. I try to watch the games on TV with the sound off!

With Strassberg it's ratings and buzz- he's got both. It reminds me of when Dwight Gooden or Fernando Valenzuela broke in. By showing Strassberg on national TV, maybe seomeone who's not a hardcore fan will tune in, ratings rise, more revenue, more people talking baseball, etc

With the bunting a lot depends on the situation- there was a game where a guy was working on a no-hitter, up 2-0 and a guy bunted to try and get on. The hitter was roudly criticized, but if he gets on and the next guy hits one out it's a tie game. Bunting to get on when you're on the short end of a 20-0 score in a potential no-no is rather weak in my book. I always want to see a clean hit break up a no-no or perfect game. YMMV
