  1. Kyo, what do you play on the disc? I've given it one spin so far and I dig it.
  2. Yanks lay an egg tonight as Burnett came with his ugly game- he's the Yankee version of Ollie Perez.
  3. Made from ham and comes in a can...
  4. Is it poor mechanics? If so, it was an accident waiting to happen.
  5. Te be fair, I did see Clapton twice last year sitting in with the Allman Brothers and he was energized and smokin' hot! They mostly did tunes from Layla. Maybe he needs to be in more situations like that, not his band
  6. I saw Clapton in February with Jeff Beck. Clapton was a snoozefest, Beck rocked verrrry hard.
  7. Is it a 'boutique quality' t-shirt and does the set come in a guitar case?
  8. Granted Aum Fidelity is in brooklyn and so am I, but I ordered it on Monday morning and it was in my mailbox on Tuesday! Great service. Hopefully I'll get to listen to it soon...
  9. Still creative at that age, when many others are just rehashing- a giant in music. HB and many more!
  10. I ordered from these guys as a gift and my sister liked them a lot: http://barclayscoffee.com/
  11. On the ump thing, I was watching the Yanks/BJs game on Monday and the hitters on both sides were ticked about the bizarre strike zone. In the 9th in a one run game, the home plate ump punches out Granderson on a ball that came in the other batter's box! Stevie Wonder calls that a ball!!! Granderson, normally a pretty cool guy even argued with the ump.
  12. I thought Girardi was too quick with the hook on Nova and created a domino effect on the bullpen. The kid was going fine, only 70 pitches.
  13. It's very difficult to suspend anyone for more than a couple of games because the player's union has quite a bit of sway. The Mets will probably not be very successful in trying to void his contract for similar reasons. From what I understand he cursed out his baby mama in a public place and in front of her father. As any father would, he objected streuously and then K-Rod beat him up, in full view of Reyes' wife and child among others. What a jerk!!!
  14. If my daily subway ride is any indication we will have a wave of deafness in the future. There are many young folks with their Ipod so loud that I can sing along from 10 feet away.
  15. Branca again winds up on the short end- he and Thompson did a lot of autograph shows together. I would think Branca's autograph alone isn't worth much now.
  16. Oddly, many of the people listening to the game probably didn't hear Hodges' call- the game was carried on(IIRC) three different TV stations and more than one radio station, but it's that call that endures. In those days there were three great teams in NYC.
  17. I like 'Fuze' a lot, too.Let me know what you think of it.
  18. Hello all, Here's a link to a Cindy Blackman disc at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Trio-Two-Cindy-Blackman/dp/B001QU0WPG/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1281760114&sr=8-15 Has anybody heard it, any opinions on it? Also, does anybody know where I can get it cheaper? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  19. It's a one man operation with the mail order and when there's a sale it gets a bit backed up. I recall similar stories from the last sale ESP had.
  20. Completely agree. For me, he comes off as a holier-than-thou-I'm-the-smartest-person-in-the-room-blow-hard. Everyone knows that the Enron guys were the smartest people in the room! LaRussa completely lost me with his "I never knew McGwire was on steroids in Oakland" bs over the winter. Tell me another fairy tale.... And there was the free pass the sportswriters gave him when he was drunk and passed out in his car at a red light...
  21. Bump and a reminder to all- you like it here, put in some $$ to keep it going.
  22. What about beignets? Maybe a doughnut variation but fried and great!!!
  23. Mine arrived yesterday in packaging that could withstand a nuclear blast! Thank you very much TJAZZ, much appreciated here.
  24. Is it possible for a team to get old all at once? Over the last week, the old guard position players (Jeter, Posada and A-Rod) have all but disappeared. The idea of paying A-Rod $25 million for this kind of production is ludicrous. He's hitting .264, with just 16 home runs. Wow. At this point, I'd say the Yanks have a 50/50 chance of being overtaken by the Red Sox. If they were to miss the playoffs, I hope some heads will roll. Too bad The Boss isn't still around and in full possession of his faculties. If he'd seen these last 10 games, he'd have gone off like a suitcase nuke. Jeter's been pretty bad all year- his OBP is way off from last year, as is his BA.
