  1. Zach Greinke also has social anxiety disorder. His pitching for NY could be a disaster with that ailment.Picture him with a gazillion reporters around his locker after a tough loss, it may be too much for him to handle. I like him as a pitcher, but i think he's not cut out for NY.
  2. I find it funny how many people point at A-rod when talking about Jeter. Because the Yanks made a colossal error, they should repeat it???!!!
  3. Police Story, Naked Gun,Airplane- the guy cracked me up for years. RIP and many thanks for the great laughs.
  4. I'm in, Jeffcrom. I just sent a paypal payment your way, look forward to getting the disc.
  5. If, and this is a huge if, Jeter leaves the Yanks he would at best get a contract of two years at about $15mil, and only from a team with deep pockets that can afford to blow that kind of $$. Any takers out there? I didn't think so...
  6. I love Jeter, but three years @$45mil is too long and too much $$. On the open market he MIGHT get 2years and about $10-15mil if a proper sucker is found. He'll be 37 in June and he had a horrid year at the plate with doubtful prospects of that improving(I think it'll get worse). Despite the Gold Glove he's not much of a top-tier shortstop anymore either. They can't play forever...
  7. My condolences and best wishes to you and yours.
  8. But can the Braves keep Uggla? The Marlins offered him 4yrs/48mil and he said no to that?!!
  9. I'm thinking there will be a flurry of bids at the end. If more than one person uses a sniping service, who would win?
  10. JUMP ON THIS, IT'S A GREAT DEAL!!!!
  11. Jerry Jones can't fire his GM!!! The'Boys have some talent, but what I saw last night and against the Giants is a team that's lifeless- have they already packed it in and given up? The Raiders are now relevant again. It's nice to see Jason Campbell doing well for Oakland. I thought he never had a decent chance in DC, with a coaching change and a new offensive coordinator almost every year.
  12. maybe a good, dynamic big band?
  13. I'd love to see the release of the entire concert of 'at Carnegie Hall'. I was at the gig and Mingus did a set with his band before the jams that was smokin' hot. I can only hope...
  14. I think that's exactly it, he had a tough job but he was also a decent guy, not always so easy to accomplish.
  15. Herbie Mann was born in Brooklyn. I recall Sonny Sharrock saying some nice things about HM. Herbie let Sonny do his thing when Sonny worked for HM, and was most appreciative of the freedom he had. Sharrock is on 'Live at the Whisky a Go Go', with Miroslav Vitous.
  16. Pretty obvious the Shanahans were lying about the benching, then they bring in a bunch of castoffs for tryouts. It smells bad in DC.
  17. Vlad Guerrero's option declined, but Texas still interested in bringing him back, just at a lower price. The NY Post had an article today where Joel Sherman actually suggested Zach Greinke as a good trade for the Yanks! He's a talented pitcher, but he's got social anxiety problems and you want him in the biggest fishbowl in baseball???!!! The guy may jump off a bridge!
  18. Congrats to the Giants and their long-suffering fans, The Freak was superfreaky last night. Great pitchers duel, great game. Texas fans, y'all got a real good team and they may be back with a different result.
  19. I have the disc pictured in the first post, there's a couple of tunes I like but it sounds sometimes like he's trying too hard for sales at the xpense of music quality. A bit too slick at times. I did 'see' him(long story I won't bore y'all with it here)play as a guest with Jeff Beck in June when Beck did a Les Paul tribute, and Trombone Shorty played his ass off, he was excellent. So IMHO he's quite a capable player but he needs the right setting to shine.
  20. This long suffering fan hopes this is the year. Enduring the Torture since 1963. That's a long time. Hope this is your year. The Giants last won the WS in 1954 when they were the NY Giants.
  21. I'm excited by the WS but I would be even more excited if I could watch it! I'm a Cablevision subscriber and right now I have no Fox. I missed the NLCS completely, heard it was pretty good...
  22. Congrats, Big Al!!! Enjoy it!! Win the World Series!!!
  23. It was going good, too. I'm off to bed, I get up early for work. BUUUUMMMMMERRRRRRRRRRR
  24. Here's another one, a cop may have pulled a gun on a bicyclist: http://alttransport.com/2010/10/off-duty-nyc-cop-pulls-gun-on-bicyclist/
  25. I can't watch the NLCS- my cable provider is Cablevision and they are having a dispute with Fox about retransmission fees. Fox got peeoed and pulled their channels off Cablevision. This will end like all other disputes between multibillion corporations, I will pay more for cable. I know it will end like that, so just give my game/bread & circuses.
