  1. I agree. In 1988 I cycled from Manchester to Blackpool (about 65 miles). I was 19, I had trained for several weeks beforehand, but it was a real eye-opener. For a few miles I found myself at the head of a big pack, feeling good about myself. All of a sudden, the Raleigh Banana Team silently ghosted past me as if I were standing still. I remember getting on my bike again about 2 weeks later and my legs were like jelly. I don't think I've cycled more than a mile ever since - certainly not at all for over 15 years. I don't give a shit what others do. I ride because I enjoy it. I've never road trying to compete with others. That would just ruin the experience for me.
  2. Glad to hear you had a great time, Bill!
  3. I usually get candies and cookies from customers along my mail route. If I don't eat them right away, the wife will take them to work so there not still sitting around 6 months later.

The personnel on these dates, top notch.

  12. I just recently became hip to Peter Bernstein's playing via his sideman dates on the Criss Cross label. I guess better late than never? His work with Melvin Rhyne for example is superb. I really dig what this guy is doing. Sticking with the Criss Cross label for now, any thoughts on his dates as a leader?
  13. From what I understand, Time Life Music is issuing a retrospective on past Rock N Roll Hall of Fame performances. One of the featured performances played on the local radio station this morning as part of a giveaway, was a smokin' performance of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". It features Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood, Dhani Harrison and Prince who winds things up with an awesome solo. While My Guitar Gently Weeps

  16. Man, you sure hit the nail on the head on that one. Especially after hearing someone recently basically stating the same. Until that mentality changes, I sadly doubt much will be done.
  17. Hope you had a great Birthday, David.

  19. Funny, I was channel surfing the other day and came across an old MASH rerun. I thought gosh he must be dead by now. Well I was off by a few days, not making light of things. He sure had a rich and fulfilling life. Thanks Harry for the great memories.
  20. Dobie Gray known for his 70's hit "Drift Away" has passed at age 71. MSNBC
  21. It seems from viewing his Facebook page and reading posts on Blindman's Blues Forum, former Howlin' Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumlin has passed. Hoping this is not true, but it sadly appears to be.
  22. I bought this over a year ago based on a recommendation here on the forum. I really enjoy it. Great sound also.
