  1. Spotify: Walt Weiskopf - Sleepless Nights
  2. Add to me to the list recommending "Unsung Heroes". I now own it. Hang in there, Dan!
  3. Having little to go on with exception of the Brian Lynch album "Unsung Heroes" which Herring plays on, I figured it might be worth finding out what others felt. Thanks for your thoughts guys both pro and con.
  4. I figured I would bump this topic one time. While I had a good number of views, no responses received to date. Reading his bio his playing is highly influenced by his idol Cannonball Adderely. That can't be a bad thing? The samples sure sounded good from the album I posted on above.
  5. He plays on the Brian Lynch album "Unsung Heroes" as a "special invited guest". Like what I'm hearing. Any specific albums I should be looking for? This one has garnered some positive reviews: Simple Pleasure
  6. Absolutely brutal this morning. It had to be 90 F before 10 this morning. The high today was 102 with the heat index of 110. One more day of this shit.
  7. A difficult night of sleeping even with the air conditioning on. At present almost 1 AM and it's 85 degrees.
  8. Close to 100 degrees here today with the heat index nearly 110F. As I sit here right now nearing 9PM eastern, it's 91!
  9. Surprised to hear you don't own this one already, Bill. It's definitely worth adding to the collection.
  10. Moderators please delete. Program already aired. Sorry.
  11. Funny to come across this thread since I was thinking of the same thing while sitting here listening to his album "Round Trip". He also plays on a number of other sessions as a sideman on the Reservoir label of which I own. Fine player. Would love to hear him recording once again.
  12. Gonna go with "Tin Tin Deo" by Junior Mance from the album "Happy Time" Great chemistry here between Junior and Mickey Roker who is outstanding on this track. I've played this a number of times the past several days.
  13. Thanks for the well wishes, guys. That was great! To answer Paul's question, yes to having to work today. Birthday's aren't a real big deal to me. I find myself working most of them. Just got off from work a short time ago. Heading out to dinner to one of the area's finer establishments. The wife of course is treating.
  14. Glad to come across some positive reviews on "Unsung Heroes" and "Tribute To The Trumpet Masters". I've thought about getting them at some point. I really admire Lynch's session work on various releases he did for the Reservoir Music label. He might be one of my favorite trumpeters, at least among the living.
  15. PM on Booker Ervin - Booker and Brass
  16. WKCR, New York
  17. Have a great birthday, Guy!
  18. Just heard a track of his most recent album I believe, "Cone and T-Staff". Sounds good. Any other fans out there? Any recommendations?
  19. Tell that to Headline News and it's around the clock coverage!
