  1. Happy Birthday Marty, be nice to be Florida right now.
  2. Overlooked Art Farmer; The Time and the Place, The lost concert on Mosaic. Best of the year for me.
  3. Happy Birthday to both of you.
  4. Not a vintage year for me again. Nothing really stands out but these come to mind (without giving it too much thought) as getting more than just an occasional play. Dennis Gonzalez at Tonic (what a lovely sound this man has). David Murray; Sacred Ground Dave Brubeck at Wilshire Ebell
  5. Happy New Year Folks.
  6. The new year is nearly with us and the concensus of those interested was that AOTW should be reborn as Album of the Month in 2008. So the question is who wants to be first up. If we are overwhelmed a second aotm can always be slotted in. If everyone's happy the same rules as before, PM me so as to keep some sort of order. I'll continue with the current lists if there are no objections.
  7. Happy Birthday Tony!
  8. This was a question in the Jazz Review's Christmas quiz. So a timely post but no prize though.
  9. Sad news, trust things work out well for you.
  10. If that's the best on the album then I could probably do without it.
  11. Belated Birthday greetings. Hope you had a great day.
  12. Merry Christmas everyone.
  13. I was fortunate enough to be at a rehearsal for a tv special London in the 70s. Sir Charles Thompson was the pianist and I sat right behind him. Throughout the rehearsal he was reading a golfing manual but managed to comp continually without taking his eyes off the book.
  14. My mistake I was confusing Outpost with Topsy. It was of Topsy of course. Right label, wrong album. It's been a long time since I heard these albums.
  15. Gil Evans Out Of The Cool, His Life and Music by Stephanie Stein Crease. Much more interesting than I thought it would be.
  16. Same here, very erratic, but mostly I find myself logged out.
  17. Wasn't the Enja album all muted?
  18. Splendid stuff, not forgotten here.
  19. Justin Time For Christmas has 'O LIttle Town Of Bethlehem' by DD Jackson and David Murray. Also a track by Paul Bley. Justin time For Christmas Three has 'Silent Night' by the WSQ and 'Noel' by Murray and the Gwo Ka Masters, There are also tracks by Hugh Ragin and Oliver Lake
  20. You can find a couple of David Murray and WSQ tracks on two Justin Time Christmas albums.
  21. Me too, never bothered me.
  22. I've never had a 'sniffy' thing about vinyl. Some of mine smell a bit musty these days.
  23. Magnificent.
  24. Discovered a few must haves through the new issues, reissues topics. Made a few friends and through the kindness of members heard some music I'd given up hope of ever hearing. Thanks guys and thank organissimo.
