Definitely yes, the Jazz Labs are among my favourites but I'm especially fond of the side with Monk on Savoy.
  2. Forgotten about this one. I'll have to dig it out and dust it off.
  3. Louis Smith; Here Comes Louis Smith (Japanese King Records Blue Note) Before that Dave Brubeck; At The Blackhawk (Fantasy 2fer)
  4. I never thought we'd get an example of Louis Smith with Silver's band.
  5. I was just thinking the same thing.
  6. Has this been posted previously? I don't recall seeing it. Louis Smith and Junior Cook. I'm pretty excited by the prospect. Out in a week or so.
  7. Good luck Dennis, get well soon. He played at one of the best concets I've attended -the John Scofield/Joe Lovano Quartet.
  8. I'd go for USPS too. Watch for customs charges though. In my experience items delivered by Royal Mail tend to escape fees more than commercial carriers. If it's uninsured you can ask the sender to declare a more modest value and mark it as a gift!
  9. Well, I like the Standards Trio but I'm not fond of Jarrett's other work. It strikes me that the new one isn't the Trio's best. I don't think it's just a case of overfamiliarity on my part. A footnote I see that ECM have repackaged the first two Trio discs as a double and called it the New York Sessions.
  10. Happy Birthday!!!
  11. In addition to the excellent Japanese only issues ther was another on the French Fluid label "Confirmation". Unlike the sidelong pieces on the Japanese albums the Fluid album has five or six titles.
  12. I've not come across another cd issue (Jjapan maybe). Sound on some of the tracks is indifferent
  13. A real pleasure to be spurred on play these again. There's not much to add to what's be said above. Maybe some of the tracks could be a little longer but in the main they are just about right as they are. Hubbard sparkles on all his contributions and the rhythm section is exemplary.
  14. Happy Birthday Andy!!
  15. You can do this in Recommendations. AOTM can be always abandoned. Views?
  16. Nothing that I can see in the Taschen website either.
  17. Thanks Niko, still hope then.
  18. Thanks for posting Porcy. DuNann's sound was great and had a special quality, if it's not too sacriligeous I prefer it to RVG.
  19. Happy Birthday. Have a great day.
  20. Good to find another Murray fan here.
  21. Happy Birthday Nate,
  22. Sad news. Saw him with Diz, left handed on Fender bass.
  23. I like Dodo, the earlier stuff especially. Wasn't there a story about a green bath?
  24. Curtis Fuller; Sliding Easy; UA Japanese pressing
  25. Amazon have just cancelled my order! Any news on this book?
