  1. The Marzette Watts too would be a welcome reissue.
  2. I'm not the biggest Hill fan, but the clips sounded interesting. I look forward to listening to it. So what do you think Paul? Hope you're enjoying this date.
  3. How about ESP DISK: 156 5th Avenue or Prestige at 446 W 50th Street
  4. Okay, I've never seen that particular LP before, but I've opened this thread and seen the image twice now, and I don't get it... can somebody explain what/where the mistake is? Looks like Sonny Rollins on the cover, at least to me. Maybe its a pic from around the time of "The Bridge" on RCA where he was keeping his hair really short and sporting a rather large goatee.
  5. Sentiments shared above. A true loss.
  6. Anyone want to type in 767 Lexington Avenue?
  7. Really glad to hear he's doing well. Thanks Chuck!
  8. Do you remember who was in Shepp's band? Maybe Shepp's band in '68 was the same band he had on "The Way Ahead"? Did Miles play with GM III, Dave Burrell and Beaver Harris? Now that would've been something! I think back-up meant opening act in this context... Oh. Wishful thinking I guess.
  9. Recently, I've been enjoying the peace and quiet time I get in my car, rather than listening to music, which is where I usually listen to music the most. My house is way too chaotic with two young kids around to set any serious listening time aside. By the time the house settles down, I'm too tired to listening to anything.
  10. Nice interview Clifford. Behind the 8-Ball here, but at the end of the article it was mentioned that Alvin is very ill. That was back in 2007. Is that still the case? Hopefully he hasn't died.

  12. A couple of used Grant Green RVG's: Am I blue and Goin' West
  13. Huge thumbs up for Change!
  14. NICE! Is this going to be released on your label then? Can't wait to see what the artwork is going to look like!
  15. How funny, I was just playing Dial S for Sonny this morning. Haven't played any of his leader dates in years and got inspired to pop this one in. Now, I want to have a Sonny fest of all his BN's. Everyone one of them is great too, not a bad one in the batch. Curious why My Conception wasn't released at the time. Those two session there are really really good. Guess Alfred heard something on it to keep it in the can. Some of you mentioned A Fickle Sonance above. I think this is some of Sonny's most out playing, at least to these ears. Love that album.
  16. Any news on reissuing For Alto with the original cover? Oh, btw, Have a great one!
  17. I have not heard everything Murray's done, but I like this one a great deal and he has a cracklin' rhythm section on it too. I agree with whoever recommended the cd set, which expands the music generously over two disks, but it be may be OOP though.
  18. Man, too many people dying at once. RIP Hank.
  19. Wow, can't believe he's dead. What a great performer (saw him on the Sacred Heart and Dream Evil tours in the late 80's) and a great singer too. The man had a pretty incredible range. Dug him with Sabbath too.
  20. Me neither. Now myspace on the other hand....
  21. Lucky lucky lucky.
  22. The Toshiba-EMI mini lps of the Transitions are almost manufactured to the standards of the originals: pasted slick on a plain blue cardboard sleeve and a mini-booklet inside. No cheap glue holding the lables on though I have the two Byrds in this format and they look really good. I think I paid $30 a piece for them new like 8 years ago. Great sound too.
