  1. Yeah, this immediately jumped to the top of my must-have list. Thanks!
  2. That color shit is SO out. I arrange by the Zodiac sign of the producer.
  3. My collection is still of the size that I have only bought one cd twice. I can remember nearly all of them! (1100 approx) I recently got my whole collection in alphabetical order, all into a row of shelving units. It makes it so much easier to find anything I'm looking for--except when something gets put back wrong! I left Tad Dameron and Fats Navarro out and my niece "put it away for me." Damned if that thing wasn't stuck in the Donald Byrd section, and it took me days before I could find it. I thought I'd accidentally sold it or something.
  4. The Shoah people keep their video masters at the same warehouse I work in. They have an amazing amount of material for this project. It has to do with the Holocaust, I'm told.
  5. I have Movin' On and I like it, especially the track "Ladies' Man." My favorite track of his I have on an Atlantic compilation, a funked-up version of "But I Was Cool" from 1974--maybe that's on that other album. His earlier material has instrumentation that is jazzier, while this stuff is funky. He's funny and fun to listen to either way, in my book.
  6. The Heat need to unload the pouter Eddie Jones. He's not going to help them win. You'll notice I didn't mention him as the third player to step up for Miami. I still think the Pistons will be right there, I just think Shaq and Wade could possibly take them down. The Pistons' bench isn't quite as strong as it was.
  7. At this point I think it will be San Antonio vs either Miami or Detroit in the Finals. Shaq and Wade might be too much for the Pistons, especially if a third player steps up to play big for the Heat. I think Haslem can be that third threat for them. I don't think Phoenix or Seattle will have what it takes come playoff time. My Flakers suck worse than my PaperClips, at this point. I'm actually hoping the Lakers miss the playoffs, maybe get a good draft pick or something.
  8. Happy Birthday!
  9. "One Cylinder" is the jam, Jeff.
  10. Thanks for the recommendations, King Ubu and Bluesnik. I have been enjoying the two cd set enormously, I think I'll spin it this morning!
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. Got mine today, thanks Dana!
  13. I ride a Salomon set up, board/boots/bindings, a 156. It is the first board I bought, and I've had it for several seasons now. Rides like a champ! I'm totally comfortable in all situations on it. I've been told by several reliable sources that Salomon makes top notch stuff. Two of the best investments I've made for snowboarding are my jacket and pants, which were both made by 686. They are impervious to cold, such that I have only worn thermals on the coldest of cold days. Never hot either, they have great breathability. I couldn't recommend 686 higher, I have been more than satisfied with their performance. I've been to Mammoth several times this season already, and it has been epic. The snowfall out here is at record levels. Over New Year's I was charging mountains of fluffy white freshies, the kind where you'll sink if you don't keep moving. I can't wait to get back up there!
  14. Thanks John and Ron.
  15. Thanks, Bertrand and Tom. Up in case anyone knows the best way to contact Blue Note...
  16. I was super excited to finally have this three cd set, and lo and behold I got two disc 3s and no disc 2. Will someone please hip me to the proper procedure to get a disc 2?
  17. So when did all you soulless, tone-deaf, so-called "**jazz fans**" stop beating your wives?
  18. Sold me Al, I got it tonight.
  19. So much for restraint, I decided I had to have the George Freeman.
  20. I got my bonus today, so I treated myself to: Miles Davis - A Tribute To Jack Johnson Bobby Hutcherson - Components Jack Wilson - Easterly Winds Duke Ellington - Blues In Orbit Lee Morgan - Live At The Lighthouse Slim Gaillard - Rides Again!
  21. I heard JB's voice, put his name down, and sat there thinking, "Damn, when did JB play organ like this?" Thanks again Al!
  22. I didn't post on that one yet either--put me down on the "Before Easter" schedule too.
  23. I have WAY too much stuff, but it's all organized and I can find even the most obscure item. I'm also clean, my house is kept presentable. Interesting topic, since I have been on a mission for several months to cut clutter down. I have thrown out all types of stuff, it has been quite liberating. Just weeded out the cassette collection. Couldn't throw some away, I'm still attached.
  24. I placed a series of large orders when I discovered the place, realized I was spending too much, and I haven't gone back. I can't control myself there.
  25. I'm sorry for a number of my rather embarassingly wrong responses, in every discussion thread. My bad.
