  1. And it's over. So much for this thread!
  2. It is the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, performing at this new Lincoln Center. Excuse me if this is old news.
  3. What a monster bomb by Kent! What a postseason for MLB! I can't remember having this much fun watching baseball.
  4. Cool stuff, showing some hip big band right now.
  5. Jimi Hendrix "Freedom" in a friggin' Hyundai commercial.
  6. I'm Da Ass Grabba, I guess I play grab ass.
  7. Happy Birthday Chris!
  8. Tell Brady not to run in there head first like he's Corey Dillon. Got his helmet blasted off. The Pats are a well-oiled machine. I really hate them.
  9. Happy Birthday to you and your daughter!
  10. I say Dave Wannstadt of Miami or Jim Haslett of New Orleans will be the first to go. Butch Davis will last the season. ss1 is just disappointed with his team. I don't think the owners had any great expectations for the Browns this year; but the season is still young and that division is not very strong. Every team is still in it. Can't really blame Wannstadt, stoned ass Rickey Williams hung him out to dry.
  11. Now I did. The Pats are a machine. We have a $5 football sheet at work that pays $1700+ to the winner. I filled out two sheets this week, and picked New England on one and Seattle on the other.
  12. Seattle's defense has yielded a stingy 46 points this year. Will the Pats well balanced offense be able to break it open? Something's got to give.
  13. Ah yes, pack rat syndrome. I've got a rabid case of it myself.
  14. I've got a bad temper, too. I have a terrible time with regret. I'm shy around the fairer sex, it doesn't help get me laid. Feel better yet?
  15. Not sure, but whoever it is will be enough to beat the Lakers. The Kings will crush us. Your boys made the biggest moves. I predict the Pistons will repeat, eeking by Shaq's Heat and then Duncan's Spurs (which will best the Yao/TMac Rockets or Sactown).
  16. TMac is on the Rockets, Jim. The Lakers were exactly what I expect to see all year--Kobe had 35, the Lakers had no chance to win.
  17. Hope you're having a great one!
  18. I once ran over my pinky while riding on my ass on my skateboard. The yet-to-be-exposed-fingernail popped right out the top of my pinky so the nail and a flap of skin were dangling, and the whole thing was scraped to hell on the side of the knuckle. By crikey, it hurt.
  19. Happy Birthday!
  20. Chris A, I enjoyed reading these here and at JC. Born at Burbank Community Hospital in '76. Moved to current Burbank home in '79 from another Burbank home. Graduated Burbank High in '94. Parents on the verge of killing me for still living at home in '04. Boring, boring, boring...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  21. Much obliged, Lon.
  22. At 11 ran after a ball into a patch of ivy and ripped my left shin open to the bone on a sprinkler head I didn't see. 33 stiches, some inside and some outside. I actually touched my bone. Mom damn near fainted. Huge scar is still there. At 14 shattered my right wrist when I fell after sliding a real long handrail on my skateboard. Landed perfectly--but in the oil that had leaked from a car which made the fall extra awkward. Broke my right ankle two different occasions playing basketball, at 19 and 21.
  23. Does anyone have a link where Zodiac Suite or Live At The Cookery can be bought on line? I have Black Christ and agree with all the praise, though I like the instrumental tracks better than the vocal tracks. I'd love to hear more!
  24. Odd phenomenon, in my infant jazz stages I had some great jazz on the shelf (Art Blakey - Moanin') for a year before going back and realizing how good it was. I had to become willing to really listen and learn the language, then things made sense that once didn't. In fact, I am still developing, it would seem. McLean's Jackie's Bag didn't click for me the first few times, now it sounds great.
