  1. I don't stretch before I play basketball, never have. I drink a lot of water and eat bananas prior to playing, and take it easy warming up.
  2. I thought that was the "wryly ribbing your amigo" smilie. My bad!
  3. Nothing wrong at all! You likes what you likes.
  4. Has anyone disliked more BFT tracks than Dan Gould?
  5. My mp3 collection has led to many, many purchases of cds.
  6. Yes Sir!
  7. Did James Brown or the JB's have a bass line that wasn't THE BEST? One of my favorites is "Blessed Blackness," just because it is so different.
  8. I bet she gives great helmet...
  9. Only one man would dare give me the raspberry: Lone Star!
  10. The only cd I bought from Allan was delivered just fine.
  11. I wish undergroundagent and Soul Stream were still around. Boogaloo Joe Jones - Sweetback The Crusaders - The Second Crusade
  12. A belated happy birthday gdogus!
  13. Happy Birthday!
  14. Blindfold Test #17 Disc 2 Compiled by Tom Storer 1. Right off the bat, this is awesome. Miles? 2. Ike Quebec? I should know this tune, I've heard it performed before. 3. Milt Jackson with a CTI group? 4. Ornette Coleman? Not my cup of tea, but quite a show of stamina I must admit. 5. Lots of suprises in this track, very intense. Reminds me of Monk for some reason. 6. Woody Shaw? Dig this one a lot. Once again, thanks to Tom Storer for the music! Now, to read everyone's responses...
  15. First of all, thanks to Tom Storer for this fine collection of tunes! I have very much enjoyed these tracks, particularly track 8 of Disc 1 and track 6 of Disc 2. As usual, I have not read anyone's responses prior to writing my own. Blindfold Test #17 Disc 1 Compiled by Tom Storer 1. "My Favorite Things" is clearly quoted, an apt opener. Piano sounds newer, I think. No guess. 2. Jammin' little track, no clue. 3. I have this. Stanley Turrentine? 4. I'm bettin' others can spot that drummer. Wait a minute, do I have this too? I might have another version of this tune. 5. Soul soothing trombone/piano/drums. JJ? 6. "Someone To Watch Over Me" - don't know the voice. It's nice. 7. "Killing Me Softly" - CTI, Grover? 8. Coltrane? Great stuff, several goosepimple moments. 9. Tina Brooks? 10. Fun track, I'm not familiar with any sax/piano duos and I'm drawing a blank. 11. Reminds me of RDK's wild and woolly BFT 11 Bonus Disc extravaganza! Bird? 12. Getz? 13. Solo sax, nicely performed. Lots of fascinating moments and decisions. Is the artist mimicking sounds from the absent bandmates as he goes?
  16. I just bought the last reissue about a month ago. Perfect.
  17. Real late one night I saw a silver Porsche 911 Turbo absolutely flying Westbound on the 134. I saw him coming in my rear view and knew he was going fast. I was doing 70 and he went past me like I was nailed to the freeway. However, I doubt even THAT car was doing 205--that's insanity.
  18. Is somebody gonna go to bed with somebody or what?
  19. What in the wide, wide world of sports is a-goin' on here?
  20. What in the name of all that is holy?
  21. In rehearsing, would the order change according to who had the best solo? Perhaps have the best solo go last? Or were the transitions between key to the statement each soloist makes?
  22. "sets the new standard for trite crapola"
  23. Hope you have a great one, and many more!
  24. Ditto. The modelmakers are superior illusionists! The CGIs were a huge mistake, adding the footage was as misguided as colorizing a B&W film.
