  1. I'll guess I'll start putting money aside for the big on line GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE! I never lived too close to a Tower. The closest was New Orleans and their selection was great. Found all kinds of OOP Blue Note there last time I went. Now I'm about 10 hours away instead of 90 minutes.
  2. I just got my Spanish Blue Notes in yesterday. A pretty greazy package. Ike Quebec BLUE AND SENTIMENTAL Johnny Griffin THE CONGREGATION Reuben Wilson LOVE BUG Freddie Roach DOWN TO EARTH Couldn't tell if my hands were greazy from handling these disc or the fried chicken we had for supper. Either way it was all good!
  3. Anyone know about this. I've gotten a couple messages titled "Your new account" or "You new credit limit" and since I just got a new Credit Card I opened it only to see this: a;lditupqeoirgnda/lvkgjae;oriuryheilruhbna'dz;dodufoiqeurthgbs;elkrg I deleted it of course and when it returned I didn't open it. My anti virus didn't pick up anything and I haven't had any problems yet but that's kinda scary. The first time I was upset that I had opened it so I sent it back to the sender which of course was undeliverable. Thank goodness because you really don't want to get into it with these types. They could ruin my credit or use my accounts or God knows what else. As above, what's the point with these sensless acts of cyber vandalism? Vandalism is one thing I've never understood.
  4. deepdiscountcd.com has free shipping. This puts RVGs to your door for under $10. Can't beat that with a stick but their selection of new releases has dropped off lately.
  5. Most of the sets have about 3 of the covers included and a couple missing.
  6. I sympathize with you. Our second daughter had colic and that was the longest six weeks of my life! My wife and I were constantly fighting about whose turn it was to get up. One bit advice concerning colic, making a tea out of Fennel is supposed to sooth her stomach. I don't remember the details of the recipe but I'm sure you could find in on line. I tell you what worked for us, although I couldn't really recommend it to anyone else for fear of something tragic. We started placing her on her stomach which these days is a big no-no because of the increase in SIDS. An old wise babysitter of ours suggested that babies handle gas much better on their stomach and we experimented during the day and found she actually did do much better on her stomach and to this day, at 2 years old she still sleeps on her stomach.
  7. Seeing this tread again got me excited about some of these titles again. Before I ordered from the above link, I checked at Blue Moon in Barcelona again where I had ordered some previously. Although many are gone I picked up. Freddie Roach - DOWN TO EARTH Reuben Wilson - LOVE BUG Johnny Griffin - THE CONGREGATION Ike Quebec - something, but not IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SPRING Still no TURNING POINT or BASRA but only 5.75 euros a piece.
  8. try here I did the same thing. Also made individual disc fro the Patton Select
  9. Definitely in addition to the Tribute CD! We aren't going to let you guys off the hook on that one. I also wouldn't mind seeing (and paying for) an Organissimo live disc if you've got some tracks off the soundboard. But if funds are needed for the site in the future, a member disc might be another option that would be less labor intensive for you guys.
  10. An idea just jumped into my head last night about a disc to help fund the board. Why should Organissimo have to spend their time and energy to learn, practice, record, produce a disc to keep the board up for all of us? So.... What if members who are musicians all contribute a track or two of their work. Organissiomo could select which tracks are used and make a compilation of Organissimo board members' music. Money is raised without a great burden to a few members (Organissimo) plus members get to share their work and perhaps stimulate interest and income from other board members who might want to hear more. Disclaimer: Although I have some tracks of some of my guitar work on my computer, I would in NO WAY submit an entry so I really have nothing to gain personally from this venture except keeping this board which I enjoy visiting, running smoothly.
  11. I recently saw the Spanish Blue Note TRUE BLUE fro $25 on half.com. At least they mentioned it was the Spanish release, but somebody's trying to take advantage of a poor unknowing soul. I believe TRUE BLUE is actually still available from Blue Moon which makes this even more disgusting.
  12. GOOOOOOOOO TIGERS! Exciting game, the really defense came up big to preserve the win once OU got things going. I'm glad the game is only 60 minutes! Nick Sabin earned a cool million for that game because of the clause that promised to pay him one dollar more than the highest paid coach in college football.
  13. "Walkin' Blues" fron Clapton's Unplugged is note for note Muddy's "I Feel Like Going Home"
  14. Oh well, so much for the undisputed national championship. I gotta admit, USC looked very impressive against a very good Michigan team. Hard to say whose better without a playoff system. I guess we'll never know.
  15. My wife just delivered our third little girl. (Beat the tax break deadline!!) Lisette Olivia. 6 pounds 3 ounces and 18 1/2 inches. Mom and baby are doing great. The jury is still out on my jealous 2 year old.
  16. I'm pulling for the Blue as well. Then we won't have to hear USC whine about how they were robbed. The computer put OU and LSU in the Sugar Bowl because that's what we told it to do. They are the two best teams, mathematically. It is a little hard to swallow that a team who didn't even win their conference can play for the national championship, but still just one loss and a tougher schedule. Honestly, I was hoping for an LSU v USC matchup so my Tigers could whip 'em and expose how overrated they are. I think Michigan has a great chance against them today. GEAUX TIGERS!!!
  17. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Jimmie Vaughan is one of the worst guitarists playing for money that I know of. One of Eric Clapton's strengths is his versatility. Just within his blues playing he can play wild like Buddy Guy as well as Buddy Guy and he gets as close to B.B King's sweet tone as anyone but B.B. Don't knock the guy because certain people hold him in higher esteem than some great players. He would be the first to tell you B.B. and Buddy and Freddy and Otis and Robert johnson were the REAL blues players. One of his goals has been to bring attention to these players who are his heros.
  18. Our area was hit hard earlier this month and it seems like it's slowing down a bit now. The flu this year does seem a bit nastier than in previous years. May just be the particular strain of virus but could also be because the vaccine doesn't exactly cover the exact strain and therefore, even people who got the vaccine can still get and then spread the virus. Anyway, the main thing people should know is that if you're interested in treatment you have to act fast. If you wait a couple days to see how things are going before you go to the doctor, you've missed you chance. The drugs have to be started within about 48 hours to have much affect. So if you absolutely can't be sick, see your doctor at the first sign of symptoms. Also if you have close contacts with the flu (i.e. family or roommates) the medicime can be given as prophylaxis. If you haven't caught it yet, stay away from sick people and the general public if possible. Wash your hands frequently.
  19. 7/4, I love that Junior Kimbrough disc. He's got a real unique rhythmic style. Not your typical twelve bar blues. "You might get raped yet' "Mister Junior, you don't have to rape me. I love you." (from "YOU BETTER RUN")
  20. Just got my fulfillment disc with its 2 free compadres. I just gotta say that BMG's service continues to improve. Does anyone remember the days when your initial shipment would take 8 weeks to get there? It was so long you forgot it was coming and what you had ordered. You could suprise yourself with new music. I recently rejoined (Thanks Big Al) and I got my initial shipment in about a week! This order came in under a week. One of my freebies was the BLUE TRAIN RVG. Decided to upgrade from The Ultimate Blue Train. Even though it's on loan, so I can't A-B it directly, the RVG sounds great and noticibly better than what I'm used to. I think one reason I like RVGs is that it the bass is more prominent. On a lot of old McMasters you're not even sure the bassist showed up and often, if and when there's a bass solo, I usually think the song is over.
  21. I wouldn't say that too loud or you may have visitors. (The guy is from the ATF for God's sake) WACO II : electric boogaloo sisters!
  22. Leave it in. The only problem I've had leaving them in is when my wife drives after me and doesn't bother to put the CD back in the case when she replaces it with Barney Sings Sinatra for the kids. The CD is forced to fend for itself on the console with sunglasses, loose change, ink pens, etc. I've tried to emphasize that some of these discs are out of print, rare, from Spain (I know they were cheap but it sounds good for the argument) etc but to her, it's a CD.
  23. Patricia, altough therapy may not help as you seem to have good insight into the cause, medicine could. Talk to your doctor. It wouldn't have to be a permanent thing. You could take it to help you through a tough time then get off it when things turn around.
  24. It is actually a "Like New" copy on Half.com. With shipping it would come to about $20.
