  2. huh - never seen/heard that.
  3. Yeah, I'd like one too. I have the Varajazz LP and am looking for the Artone as well.
  4. I don't disagree.
  5. I'll take both old-time collective improvisation and "new thing." No problem with either, in principle.
  6. McCoy Tyner Trio - Reaching Fourth - (Impulse orange & black stereo)
  7. Sad to hear this. Another fine and respected artist is gone.
  8. Wow. I got mine for $25 used not long after moving to Austin a few years ago. Seemed like a reasonable price at the time!
  9. Different strokes for different folks I guess - love Sortie. I didn't know someone had booted it on CD; used to have doubles of it but traded one for ICP 006 and a couple of nice Surman titles.
  10. Jeff, do you have the Morgue or Space Who LPs?
  11. I would of thought chewy had started this thread.
  12. They are MORE MODERN than many contemporary bands. Amen to that!! ...and Gerald Wilson too, for that matter. ...CBBB...

  14. I see that Grooves-Inc supposedly has a couple of Eje Thelin CDs on Dragon that I was looking for. Anybody ever used this site? Legit?
  15. My aunt (also a guitarist but not a 'name') is friends with him. I'll check this out - thanks!
  16. J.R. Monterose & Tommy Flanagan - And a Little Pleasure - (Uptown) Beautiful and dangerous stuff.
  17. Lungfish - Sound in Time - (Dischord)
  18. They're both nuts. I liked some of Lurie's music and definitely thought he was an interesting actor.
  19. I think that might be my go-to as well, though Angel Eyes is probably the trio LP that I like the best.
  20. As an archivist, it is my hope & non-denominational prayer that this "memorabilia" goes into an institution for safe keeping and sharing with interested scholars and students. Perhaps Emory, Clark or Rutgers? And welcome, by the way!
  21. True art records... my girlfriend bought me the book recently, pretty fascinating stuff. Mingering Mike
  22. I have the original Columbia and Atlantic LPs of this material, and both have good sound so hopefully the CD follows suits.
  23. Black & Blue put these out and they were/are a French label.
