  1. I'll wait and see if Dusty Groove gets copies. I was so turned off by the Ray Russell vinyl fiasco, not to mention a couple of lost CDs another time, that I'd rather just deal stateside. Other Bandcamp experiences have been more than fine, and often with imprints as small or smaller than they are.
  2. Unissued music with Pullen, similar lineup.
  3. Seeing the Timmons LP cover referenced before, I had no idea this is what it sounded like. Strong stuff.
  4. Jenkins/Ali (expanded), Ali Quartet w/ Pullen & Carlos Ward, Watts-Ali duo... for every release that actually came out at the time, it seems like there are others that didn't materialize, though tapes apparently exist for quite a bit of it.
  5. I have the original Polydor, which sounds excellent. Beautiful album, kind of a sleeper but once you wake up on it, it really hits.
  6. Hopefully the other planned releases get out into the world.
  7. Very curious. I have that Joe Viera/Ed Kröger material from around the same time, which is fairly interesting.
  8. I think they are licensed from various rights holders, yes.
  9. Yes, archival material from the "Sounds of Feelings" era. Strong stuff and pretty out.
  10. Someone should grip those Axis Another Revolvable Thing CDs. Group is Masayuki Takayanagi New Direction for the Arts, FWIW.
  11. Have no idea what the legal situation is or was between the parties, and we'd have to see the contracts ourselves to know what the label is talking about. A lump sum to reissue certain titles and manufacture a set number of copies is pretty normal, but I suppose if they kept pressing them it would be a problem.
  12. Gripped yesterday -- if they set up a subscription, I'd gladly buy in.
  13. Not poor. Totally fine.
  14. I have the digital promo files from when this set was new. It is indeed really, really excellent and serves as a reminder to actually pick up the CDs.
  15. Segué also issued non-jazz regional rock, funk and R&B on 45.
  16. I have that CD but it is in storage. Excellent set indeed. My parents were visiting Stockholm and I told them to check out Andra Jazz -- they got some pictures with Harald Hult, and he gave them a copy of that CD to give to me, and signed it. Sadly never met the man.
  17. Weird! I've heard she's pretty out there, but that's something. Also, regarding Carla Bley and Steve Swallow, if anyone has tapes of the mid-60s trio they had with Bill Folwell on trumpet I'd love to hear 'em!
  18. That's awesome! His record on Three Blind Mice, Encounter!, is a favorite as well. Fantastic musician, I hope he is doing well.
  19. That's the version I have. Beautiful album.
  20. The cover photo on the Ayler set looks nice, and I'm sure it sounds good, but I'll admit I'm a bit worn out by all of this repackaging. https://recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/15959
  21. Sad news. RIP.
  22. If one believes in an afterlife, hopefully Wayne and the also-great Alan are reunited.
  23. ^ Yup. RIP, and a big THANK YOU.
  24. Haven't dug out the Savoy in a long time but it does sound like the music from the Savoy.
