  1. That version looks like the 1966 World Record Club. Looks like Philips would be the German issue. Unusual for a Bob Thiele Impulse album.
  2. Interesting - a place I was in this weekend had that ‘Statements’ on Philips. Not sure if it was a UK issue. They also had the 2LP ‘The Young Rabbits’.
  3. I don’t think I ever saw a copy of that one that wasn’t a cutout !
  4. French Milestone 2LP
  5. No love for The Frosh?
  6. And possibly accidental. I don’t think he had yet been let loose on the UK and US in the late 70s. I bought that one with that cover in a UK United Artists pressing. Not the greatest.
  7. Just noticed - is that a younger Rupert Murdoch on the ‘Etcetera’ cover? Fitting !
  8. Danish Metronome, Mono. Same metalwork as the Prestige Bergenfield I think, sonically very good. As featured in billions of 70s cutout bins ! Wish I’d bought a copy.
  9. Another airshot from The Penthouse?
  10. Pure Pleasure have given a revised date of Sept 4 for the streaming event.
  11. Harriott called it ‘free form’ - very much influenced by modern abstract art and quite different to the US approach.
  12. Remember seeing him in solo recital at the Bath Festival many moons ago. Pump Room, as I recall. Misha Mengelberg also did a solo set there.
  13. ‘Passing Ships’ on the Tone Poet seems to be a pretty good test for how well your arm is set up. Personally, haven’t noticed any distortion. Having said that, I played an original of ‘Horace Scope’ the other day. It had a vitality and ‘oomph’ that this series, commendable in many ways, lacks.
  14. The Jan 1990 concert performance in Toronto Massey Hall was very good, so I agree with the comment about the form. Miles seemed enthusiastic and keen to blow. Wasn’t it that rubbish National Enquirer rag that had the ‘rumours’?
  15. That was my interpretation of it, yes. Bring your own food and drink.
  16. I’ve got the signed ‘Golden Striker’ lined up ready for a spin. The ‘Foursight - Stockholm’ is very good too, a well integrated band and typical strong work by Renee Rosnes.
  17. The ‘Understanding’ notes mention that it was in the main a ‘brown bag’ catering affair, so I guess people did their own thing.
  18. Beep Beep the Road Runner Wile E Coyote Peter Coyote
  19. There’s still a FOPP in Covent Garden, London - alas, not up to the standard it once was though.
  20. That was quick !!. Discogs overnight delivery?
  21. FOPP (almost RIP) over here did the same thing around 2010. £3 each, including many of the limited ones. Fill yer boots time.. They also had quite a number of box sets, including Debut, Contemporary Records and the Riverside Story at giveaway prices.
