  1. Sorry Clifford, no spare..
  2. It’s good - adventurous early 70s trio with Harry Miller. Ratip was living in London at the time but is now resident in Turkey I believe. There is one other LP by him on the Lansdowne Series which is more straight ahead I think. Now up - lovely easy-listening disk from Amancio D. Sort of ‘Val Doonican with balls’.
  3. Maybe the assumption of these companies is that purchasers will do a one off load of the material into a NAS drive or such like and then stream it, ditching the CD. If so - that sucks.
  4. ‘Another Story’ is a real favourite of mine - very nice sounding album.
  5. With the Good Doctor and Arthur Blythe !
  6. 1994 is about right. I remember my delight in coming across it in the local CD outlet in Canada (A&B Sound, I think). There would have been zero chance of any of those promo copies making it into UK stores in the mid 70s.
  7. Some of the early ones he did were very good indeed - Chick Corea’s ‘Now He Sings, Now He Sobs’ comes to mind. Hope he has a great retirement, well earned !
  8. Round the corner from Goodge St tube station? Remember seeing it but never went in.
  9. Did that ‘Live at Montreux’ come out as an LP back in 73/74? If so, I never saw it - always assumed that it came out first time as a ‘Collectors’ Choice’ era CD back in the early 1990s (the ones with the white banding on the CD case). Mine is of that era.
  10. I would also be interested in any further insights on the sonic quality as I am tempted too by the Pure Pleasure reissue and Honest Jon stocks it I believe.
  11. I don’t think you will regret picking up a copy of this set !
  12. Yep, got an East Wind of that one. Not quite so fond but will have to dig it out. There’s the ‘Quintet at Boomers’ on East Wind as well.
  13. Yes Soulpope. I bought this one from Mole nearly 40 years ago now () and always thought that it and the ‘To Duke With Love’ were brilliant. A clean up on the VPI and it is sounding magnificent. Plus - Cedar Walton, Sam Jones and Billy Higgins were never captured better IMO.
  14. Maybe the inside of Bill Savory’s shed ?
  15. Inner City (Mole Jazz cutout )
  16. Thanks - glad to hear that it’s not just me. I am finding that the sound of the set is remarkable. Hamp’s vibes come through with very good sonority.
  17. Anyone else found that the booklet to CDs 3 and 4 is a bit oversized and was bent into the case to fit it in? A bit annoying - and the first Mosaic that I’ve ever noticed this. No qualms about the sound - considering the available source quality. Miracle, really. CD1 starts out on an unbeatable level with the Hawkins and Ella tracks. I notice that some of the tracks have bursts of what is like white noise interference - I guess that must be degradation of the aluminium disks. As for the booklet - very readable and fascinating.
  18. No gripes about the Mosaic McMasters from me either ! My favourite remasterings were the ones by Malcolm Addey though.
