  1. Apparently... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/the-beatles/10048426/Jimi-Hendrix-Miles-Davis-and-Paul-McCartney-supergroup-was-mooted.html#disqus_thread
  2. 'Lament For Booker Ervin'.
  3. I hear that Lansdowne Studios (or what was Lansdowne Studios before they gutted it to make a banker pad ) is back on the market for £12M. The old basement studio area is now a fancy kitchen/diner. Anyone fancy clubbing together to put a sneaky offer in? Yeah, 'Belladonna' is great. I have the Vertigo LP in the racks somewhere..
  4. Indeed - absolute bargain. Mine has been on constant rotation. Wish they would do the Dexter Gordon at that price !

Just put an order in before the sale ends and noticed that several non-sale items had quickly and recently disappeared off of the site without any 'running low' warning. In particular - the Turning Point 'Creatures of the Night/Silent Promise'. Wonder what happened there?
  6. Blimey, is he still with him? He was in the Sanders lineup when I saw them back in 1990 !
  7. "musik für alle" - Sounds East German? (producer - E Honecker)
  8. 'Bredenborough' must be code for Salisbury. I recognise the photos of the town centre ! He must still live in Broad Chalke or there-abouts. Next time I am in the Salisbury Waitrose/John Lewis I'll look out for Toyah pushing a cart. Fripp is a very Dorset name, so no suprise with origination from Wimborne Minster.
  9. http://www.toyah.net/tag/all-star-mr-mrs/ He could at least have worn a Schizoid Man mask, They were living in Broad Chalke, not far farom Salisbury until recently (not sure if they are still there). The house previously owned by Cecil Beaton !
  10. 'Change Is' is a corker. The presence of Guy Warren, with encouragement of ian Carr, is a bit of an anomaly though - my understanding is that Don Rendell wasn't entirely happy with it. You can hear the genesis of the group's break up in this session.
  11. Up - Sainsbury's for £16.99 pre-order at the moment for anyone in the UK still after this !
  12. Tyrone Power Tyrone Washington Mr Beeching (train-wrecker)
  13. Anyone going to Cheltenham this weekend? (I'm passing).
  14. Yep, many thanks. That 1966 'Chronicle' goose walk experimental archeology with Ann Packer is pretty cool.
  15. Wow, €250! What's so special about this LP and the one the OP is after, other than that they were apparently non-commercial releases in limited editions? And no cover on this one either - d'oh! What's special? Rare and good... that's all. I hadn't even noticed that it didn't even have the cover. I'll take 10...!
  16. Vinyl West currently have a copy of 'Rischka's Soul' if anyone is interested..(and has the dosh) https://vinyl-west.de/catalog/wolfgang-dauner-group-rischkas-soul-p-12585.html?osCsid=5dfa475e5a46e928d66732cb5d091ae6
  17. Thanks for the heads up. Total non-event then ! The only good thing on BBC4 at the moment is the archaeology season.
  18. Sister Mamie Bill Evans Yusef Lateef
  19. £16.99 at sainsbury.com is indeed "very reasonable" and very tempting indeed Looks like it's a Woody Shaw blow-out coming up over the next few weeks. Thanks for that ! I'll order one with the bread and milk.. Nectar points too (32) damn, I forgot the Nectar points! My Woody Columbia box is apparently 'in the mail' from Sainsbury's. Damn quick for a pre-order !
  20. Spaulding Givens James Spaulding Henry James
  21. Nice one porcy ! Today I have been hipnotising myself via the Vertigo swirl to -
  22. Chapman Pincher Peter Wright The 5th Man
  23. Indeed ! Both Terry Smith and Ray Warleigh were featured in Scott Walker's band at the time and each of them got a feature LP put out on Philips with Scott Walker's production. Neither were great sellers. The 'Ray Warleigh Album' is a bit more MOR thanTerry Smith's 'Fall Out' LP.
