  4. Why is it that on the very few occasions I ever get to pass though Munich I never get chance to check out the record shops in depth. They used to have a good branch of Zweitausendeins though (I'm thinking early 80s here.)
  5. Sorry - only just seen this. Yes, he was positioned with the saxes. Not doing an 'Eddie'

  7. Ah - Canada Post. Used to regularly have stuff go missing with those guys.
  8. There's always the Hagrid tapes too !
  9. I'm still waiting for someone to come up with a business concept that mixes the record shop bricks and mortar experience with the convenience of the internet. If I was a savvy business entrepreneur maybe I would have done so already. Anyone know of any attempts at this? ie. A virtual reality Mole Jazz on the internet - including the scrum to get through the door on sale days and the queue at the best racks? That would be a hoot !

  11. As I reported in the UK shipping thread, received mine today, my estimate is that I should have put my hands on it last week but the shipping notice never made it to my mailbox, a last warning actually arrived yesterday Bizarre ! Got my Peterson set within a couple of days here in the UK. Signed-for delivery included as well.

  13. Never heard this show and will avoid it if it is as bad as it sounds here. Thanks !

  15. How's the sound quality? I have most of the CDs (and 'Civilisation' on vinyl) and as a Williams Fanatic am tempted by this one.
  16. Sadly, I missed the local concert last week with the Trio but caught Stan and his Octet at Swanage last year. Very good indeed !
  17. Have a good one !
  18. I have a near-mint mono NY USA pressing of this particular one and will be interested to hear how it compares. Hearing the session in stereo should be interesting (should compare I guess with the version on the Moncur Select CD). Too much choice !
  19. Bloody Sun. Total waste of newsprint that so-called 'paper'. Fit for latrine use only.
  20. Indeed - both are great. Wish that Verve had put out more of those 'Elites'.
  21. I think that one is in the mail. Still have a batch of Music Matters 2x45 rpms to 'proof listen'. In the meantime - 'The Artistry Of Freddie Hubbard' (HMV, mono)
  22. Stan Tracey Trio 'Perspectives' (UK Columbia Lansdowne Series, stereo)
  23. I've never seen an original JARO Monterose for sale. The only original I ever spotted for sale had the mono LP inside a stereo cover. Went for over £400 I think.
  24. A good place for madrigals from the minstrels gallery !
