  1. Damn...... don't keep rubbing it in !!!!
  2. Jeez - shouldn't be allowed !
  3. I have a copy of that 'Jaro International' LP too (I'd thought it was legit - I guess not) and agree that it sounds pretty good. Certainly good enough for my needs. It was also bought about 5-6 years ago.
  4. Looks like he also did a jazzy stint with Jon Hiseman and Collosseum II back in the mid-70s. I'd forgotten that !
  5. A bit of a delay with a CD received from the US over Xmas (ironically it was a UK import ) but stuff seems to be getting through OK, albeit with some delay. Could the brutal December weather also have impacted things?
  6. Vaguely remember that ear incident when it happened - big news at the time. A sad tale.
  7. I like his gaff ! First time I've ever seen a barn conversion with a jazz hideaway theme. A pretty old looking place too, judging from the rafters (medieval?)
  8. Jemima Khan 'Sir Jams' Goldsmith Zac Goldsmith
  9. Blimey, it's only about a week ago that I was watching him on that Thin Lzzy BBC documentary. Sad news - RIP.
  10. A bit out of-date on the 'crappy MP3' assertion. They may not be up to the exacting standards of the Hi-Fi buff but I'd say they sound 'very good' these days. Certainly much better than the first generation of CD remasterings of pre-digital music - or the thin vinyl that I bought most of my records on in the post-Oil Crisis years! I prefer CDs, they always sounded better on my system than the downloads I've heard. Totally agree. I always prefer the physical product too. CD or vinyl. If ever there was an artist who merits the posthumous honour of a Mosaic big box and booklet, it's Harriott.
  11. Sahib Shihab 'Companionship' (Rearward 2LPs)
  12. Captain Crunch Captain Sensible Captain Slow
  13. Chico Hamilton Pacific Jazz, CD4. Nice !
  14. Indeed. Clifford. Which only tends to indicate to me that in the case of 'Hum Dono' maybe the masters are lost or there are serious legal complications. Unusual that a session this good hasn't come out already courtesy of the Japanese.
  15. Evelyn 'Champagne' King Millie Jackson Millie Tant
  16. I hear you! End of an era, presumably?
  17. Little Man Tate Little Jazz Jimmy Heath Little Jimmy Osmond
  18. Very much 'of it's time' - certainly an unusual film. And then there's the Gato Barbieri sound track and the disturbing Francis Bacon images at the beginning of the film (highly relevant I think).
  19. Wayne Shorter Wayne Garth
  20. I'm not certain on that one, Hans. It does seem bizarre though that such sought-after albums as 'Movement' have never been legitimately reissued (I don't think the Japanese have even reissued that one). This in itself tends to indicate underlying contractual issues. Reissues of the whole UK Columbia 'catalogue' have been very patchy and were only temporarily opened up when Universal UK did that 'Impressed Repressed' series to coincide with Gilles Peterson's CDs and the TV series 'Jazz Britannia'. I believe that series producer Tony Higgins gave up when the 'Vol 3' compilation wasn't issued by Universal (they apparently lost interest after the initial media brouha). Sadly Chuck may be right but I hope this isn't the case ! For a Mosaic big box they could also include a bundle of Shake Keane sessions to increase the size, perhaps? (e.g. his mega-rare Airborne EPs/LPs, 'That's the Noise' on Ace of Clubs, 'New Directions'/David Mack - UK Columbia).
  21. How much for a black box and booklet to go with it? -_- If you're into reincarnation, you might also want to know who would be doing the remastering. I'll cross Steve Hoffman off the list for that task. 'Resurrection Label' perhaps?
  22. A great deal for a superb Mosaic !
  23. Same down here. Much preferable to the extreme cold though.
  24. and Transition in the 50s?
