  1. Elmo Hope Trio 'Meditations' (OJC)
  2. Happy Birthday !!
  3. All the best Hans !
  4. Happy Birthday John !
  5. Great news. I'm there !
  6. Not to mention the vehicle-size spider crabs that pound the seabed in the deep water off of Japan ! They forage on any unfortunates that filter down through the depths.
  7. Thanks for posting the link. Those photos of Ornette are badazz. Dig that crystal on a stand in front of Ra's keyboards on the 1968 pics.
  8. Doug Carn 'Infant Eyes' (Black Jazz)
  9. I looked at this thread today without registering the first posting date and was scratching my head thinking how could Mr Bright Moments have gone through all those years without buying a single Mosaic !
  10. Excellent album !
  11. That sounds like one of the GRP reissues from around 10 years back. Just checked my Speakers Corner reissue of 'El Chico'. It's a good facsimile of the foldout cover with glossy finish. The LP has orange/black impulse labels, no mention of 'Speakers Corner' on labels or sleeve nor is there any mention of '180g' anywhere. Hope that helps !
  12. Totally agree - both wonderful. Add to that the session with Oliver Nelson too.
  13. Hm, I wasn't able to dig this one yet... played bits of it now and then, but never warmed to it, really. I have a vinyl - played it once and relegated it to the vinyl bleachers where it has remained for some years. Maybe I should dig it out again?
  14. Mine came out at #2168.
  15. Strongly recommend the Hodges. That one is one of the 'must have' Mosaics. Yep, it looks as if Lang/Venuti has now disappeared off the chart.
  16. Red Mitchell/Harold Land 'Hear Ye !!' (UK London mono)
  17. Took a lot of fiddling about with connecton leads from the lounge and into the PC in the study but hopefully the results will be worth it. Sometimes I wish I did have a recording studio !
  18. A bit of Electric Miles at full volume: 'We Want Miles' (UK CBS 2LP - great Teo Macero production) and 'Pangaea' (Japanese CBS-Sony 2LP set)
  19. For sure. A major discovery for me, that suite. Check out also Brownie's photo of the live performance of this in NYC in the booklet !
  20. Excellent article - thanks ! Didn't realise that he spent time in Chino with Miles and Blakey.
  21. Re-mastering details. Transferred by me in 24bit/48kHz using Linn Sondek/Dynavector XX-2 into external Soundblaster card. Post-processing by the guys at BGO. :rsmile:
  22. Could be prophetic. Give it 50 years...
  23. You mean that famous battle where King Harold was bombed on Senlac Hill by Zeros?
