  3. Very Best Wishes !
  4. Sad news, RIP. I'll dig out the Dizzy Gillespie Pablos a bit later.
  5. Nick Brignola/Pepper Adams 'Baritone Madness' (Beehive)
  6. Woody Shaw 'Song Of Songs' (OJC)
  7. Dizzy Gillespie Verve/Philips, CD4
  8. I'll bet the Donner Pass area is 'challenging' today !
  9. Nat Cole LP set going ballistic ! Nat Cole LP Set
  10. Joe Ford McCoy Tyner Sonship
  11. All the best !
  12. add in there also Grachan Moncur's two Blue Notes ('Evolution' and 'Some Other Stuff' - the latter being a bit more avant-garde) and Tony Williams' 'Lifetime' and 'Spring'.
  13. Sorry to hear this Flurin, sadly this problem with cats getting hit by cars seems to be getting worse thanks to some of the idiots who are let loose on our roads. I have two cats opposite and the neighbours have put up signs on the very quiet track road which runs past as a warning to slow down because of the cats. So far they seem to be fine, thank goodness.
  14. Gillespie, CD2. so far for this one.
  15. Thanks for the BFT ! Total blank for me apart from the 2 tracks but it's familiarised me with artists I otherwise wouldn't have heard.
  16. Possibly you might be thinking of 'Tubbs In New York' (with Clark Terry) and 'Return Visit' (with James Moody and Rahsaan Roland Kirk) which are Tubbs albums but with American names and recorded in NYC. Both originally issued on Fontana vinyl and reissued on CD by Universal UK. Dusty usually has them. I can heartily recommend all of the Fontana albums, including the various big band albums ('Tubbs', 'Tubbs Tours', '100% Proof', 'The Orchestra') and the small group sessions (inc. 'Mexican Green', 'Late Spot at Scotts' and 'Down In The Village'). Most are on CD apart from 'The Orchestra' (the weakest of the batch in jazz terms but still well worth a listen). Tubbs was born in London so must have gone to school somewhere in that area.
  17. and Tyrone Washington 'The Natural Essence'..
  18. Maybe he should have posted it on "You Porn"
  19. Check out the John Dowland 'In Darkness Let Me Dwell' CD on ECM - that one was almost recorded in a monastery (Forde Abbey, Dorset in fact). The Holy atmosphere comes through loud and clear !
  20. Wonder if they will ever stock the Euro-Mosaics again?
  21. Recall seeing Fresu on a Canadian tour about 15 years ago with his quartet. Very nice, in a 'Milesian ECM' sort of way - liked his flugel sound particularly.
  22. Dizzy Gillespie Verve/Philips Small Groups, CD1. 'Euro-Mosaic' version.
  23. What label is that one on?
