  1. Nice one ! Just been spinning 'The Atlantic Years - The Art of Freddie Hubbard' 2LP set. The 'Sing Me a Song of Songmy' and 'High Blues Pressure' material.
  2. Not even to call in at Mosaic Records?
  3. Throughly enjoying this set. The 1985 material from 'Forest National', Brussels is not to missed for those partial to 80s Miles. He's in fine lip, the band are driving and much of the material is from the elusive 'Rubber Band' era. Intriguing - as the repertoire I heard in London a few months earlier was quite a bit different to this (John Scofield was also in the lineup too).
  4. That's great news ! Very cool - and Pat's a genuinely nice guy.
  5. Tony Crombie 'Atmosphere' - UK Columbia. Lovely green-label mono original, with Tubby Hayes.
  6. 'Cosmic Tones For Mental Therapy' and 'Monorails and Satellites' would be hard to beat. As would Frank Wright's 'Church Number Nine'
  7. European beer beats that Yankee *** water once again !
  8. Here's the 'Blue Bird': This one and 'Pithycanthropus' were also reissued in the USA on the Prestige 'Reincarnation of a Lovebird' twofer.
  9. Look's like the Buddy Rich is a straight reissue of the UK 2LP RCA set. Sound was always a bit '2-dimensional' but the band is roaring and there's some memorarable repartee between Buddy and Ronnie Scott (whenever these two started joking together on stage it was always a good laugh ). The atmosphere is captured very well indeed - recommended. Nice version of 'Milestones' and some fine arrangements from the likes of Don Piestrup ( ) and Bill Holman.
  10. Charles Mingus 'Music Written For Monterey, 1965..' (Charles Mingus)
  11. Freddie Roach 'All That's Good' (BN NY USA mono) Ike Quebec Mosaic '45 sessions' set
  12. Have a Happy Birthday !! (hopefully not too wet )
  13. Hope it is a good one !
  14. Yep, that one is a favourite of mine too. Will dig it out today.
  15. Thanks very much, Ubu. Still loading disk 3. It will be a while before I hear this stuff though as I'm steadily working my way through 'other such material'
  16. I've been a huge fan of that session with Hammer ever since it came out on that 'Prime Element' twofer vinyl set, back in the day. Absolutely no 'Miami Vice' - he is locked into a deep modal vein. Hugely under-rated session, which has stunning work from Elvin too !
  17. Swell, here's mine: That's currently available on a twofer. And at the excellent Teutonic bargain shop for low price (at least it was last time I looked www.zweitausendeins.de - I think I paid 3 Euros for it.) That's where I got it, too - it didn't leave my CD player for several days! It's a real good 'un
  18. Happy birthday !
  19. Happy Birthday !
  20. Happy Birthday !
  21. Thanks for the advisory. I'll add that to the list along with 'Last Waltz'.
