  1. Who knows where the time goes?
  2. That's probably fairly rare. I have the Cecil on Praxis but not that one. I think it may have reappeared on a Leo cd Paul. Didn't know about the Leo reissue, but your vinyl copy is still probably rare. Reissued by Leo Records as "Live in Milano" Recorded live in Milano, August 1980 Recording licensed from "Praxis". Original LP "Among the People" The song titles on the original LP were incorrect: Tutankhamun [Among The People] Illinstrun [shango King] A Jackson In Your House [Choosing A Cracker]
  3. And: John Butcher and Thomas Lehn + Dave Smolen / hair_loss Wednesday, September 21 at 8:00pm Location: AUX at Vox Populi, Philadelphia
  4. If you earn income of more than $600 a year, the payer needs to generate a 1099 form to report the income to the IRS. For musicians, they should get 1099 from venues that paid more than that amount in one year and sidemen should get them from band leaders. I assume that Amazon will send them to Marketplace sellers.
  5. Couldn't make it past the two minute mark.
  6. They'll be in Philadelphia on Friday at the Art Alliance.
  7. Argo, Emarcy and Verve Small Group Buddy Rich Sessions - disc 2
  8. Hatfield & the North (first NY performance)
  9. Stanley Turrentine - The Blue Note Stanley Turrentine Quartet/Sextet Sessions - disc 1 - "Comin' Your Way" With Tommy Turrentine, Horace Parlan, George Tucker, Al Harewood
  10. That's a bug, not a bird. Oh wait, it's a bird watching a bug. Huh.
  11. Charles C. Mann - 1491 - New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus (2nd edition) Everything you've been taught about native Americans is wrong...
  12. The epicenter was about 3 miles from where my daughter is living. Luckily, she is away right now. And no one was hurt, although there was some building damage.
  13. The Academy of Fine Fencing? (See upper left of ad.)
  14. Perhaps the Bernstein Symphony Edition listed is a new edition with cheaper packaging? 72 Euros isn't bad for 60 CDs.
  15. Most likely a technical blip.
  16. Yeah, and Stark's other side, Donald E. Westlake has written some good ones too. I recently read one of his earlier comic novels "The Fugitive Pigeon" as well as the first two "Dortmunder" books: "The Hot Rock" and "Bank Shot." (In the first one they steal a gem over and over again and in the second they literally steal a bank.) And his 1997 novel "The Ax" could be seen as a parable of today's job market: the protagonist researches all the candidates likely to be in front of him for a job, tracks them down and does away with them.
  17. Connie Willis - "To Say Nothing of the Dog ~ or ~ How We Found The Bishop's Bird Stump At Last"
  18. There was supposedly some issue over the rigts to "Walkin'" with the estate of composer Richard Carpenter. Hopefully they'll resolve it.
  19. Argo, Emarcy and Verve Small Group Buddy Rich Sessions - disc 2. So far, I'm enjoying this one more than I expected to. There's a lot of good Sweets Edison on the first two discs.

  21. Nice article, Mark. It's nice that there isn't an age limit for getting the appointment.
  22. There's a difference between forgiving what someone has done to you and forgiving what someone did to someone else.
