Edit to say this was in response to Jim's post.

"He was acquitted of knowingly using steroids...." Definite evidence of cluelessness. A hung jury is labeled a mistrial. Mistrial as defined by Webster's dictionary...."an inconclusive trial, as where the jury cannot agree on a verdict". Inconclusive is not an acquittal. "Open your eyes.....You know it is quite possible that you just might be wrong once in a while" Any understanding of what "projection" is Dr Good? Let me help. Webster's definition: "the attribution to another person the feelings, thoughts or attitudes present in oneself." "To all: I told you so" I am concerned about our educational system.

Boy was I wrong! Looks like count 2 was 11 - 1. Only one juror couldn't vote guilty on the second count. 11 jurors thought he was guilty of lying!! Gimme a break....there was no case here. I still believe in your facts Goodone!
-
And I assume he's not guilty on the other three counts. After all, as Good and the defense attorneys know, there was no case here for anyone to consider. Not guilty on the other three counts. Am I right?? edit to say....just saw alankin's post. I'm wrong.

Those HR stats before 1999 and after 1999 from Dan's last post are factual evidence that steroids help the older player hit more home runs. Dr. Good's "I stand for facts" won't acknowledge these statistics and WHEN those stats took place because his opinions are based only on generalities ("best home run hitter in the history of the game"...."MLB record in walks".... I could go on) that support that opinion. An interesting quotation: "Arrogance is the belief that one's opinions are indisputable facts. Ignorance is not knowing the difference."

Photo shopped pictures are ALWAYS considered evidence not only in the court of public opinion but in every publication and court in the land. They are not considered manipulated photos by any one. Photo shopped pictures are NEVER humorous and satirical. Only the smallest of minds cannot differentiate between satire and serious evidence with serious intent.

Woah. Where were you being attacked, Good? Only using your words and example to help you out. Mentioned a different album though. Waddaya say you share some of those chill pills............dude?
-
Geez Good, you need to learn to relax. The court of public opinion isn't attacking you. Tell you what, maybe it's time to chill to some nice jazz tunes. I recommend John Scofield's Quiet. Great album.

So you don't understand what a troll program is. Instead you think you're being called a troll. Please read what is written, OK? Wow.

Amazing........Goody called Jazzmoose a liar for the second time but Good's clueless because he didn't write the word "liar". As a self described expert (just wait for the "where did I ever say I was an expert?") in the law, medicine and language, he'll take the bait. He NEEDS the last word. Period.

"I haven't the foggiest notion what is in those shots." "The shots do not contain steroids..........No muscle gain either."
-
Dan's comment on Bond's performance "so late in his career" is the rationale for strategically and knowingly taking steroids. Later in careers is when the most lucrative contracts with performance incentives are offered.

I think I just read a perfect example of projecting. It also was interesting to read that the use of "my girl" is "always" considered romantic ......except when it's not. And I learned that anything that is photo shopped is not considered proof. As to the rest of the debate, I arrogantly share Good's sentiment, don't waste my time.

I'm always surprised at the remembrances of LPs as vastly superior to CDs. I started buying cds in the late 80's. Up until that time I collected LPs. Since the vast majority of LPs I purchased were not 180 gram virgin vinyl, I recall being frustrated many times with mediocre sounding LP pressings. Yes I had a number of LPs that I loved but that's the same with cds too.

Are there any box bargains currently available?
TedR replied to GA Russell's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I received my OP set yesterday. I live in northern ohio. It arrived in a shipping envelope and, as a result, had one small dent and one small crease on the bottom edge of the Mosaic box. Otherwise it arrived in great shape. Listening to and enjoying the first cd this morning. Nice variety with ballads that stay close to the song followed by uptempo swingers. So far I much prefer this OP to his later trios. And my wife is enjoying it which is a big plus. -

I'm surprised that you'd have to pay the increased shipping costs. I assume when you purchased it the seller charged 7GBP for shipping. Now it's 12GBP. But if an order was placed and accepted at the previous 7 GBP, then that's the deal. -
I saw McCoy's group around this time at Wolf Trap. He was the opening act for Grover Washington Jr. During Grover's set Grover tried to coax Tyner out to play with him. He didn't.

I value the autographs that I have because they're reminders of interactions that I normally wouldn't have had with people that I admire. Autographs (and memories) that I particularly treasure are Randy Weston, Sam Rivers, Maynard Ferguson and Clark Terry. A favorite memory without an autograph is when, along with some other fans, I approached Jackie McLean after an outdoor concert in Florida. I asked him if he would sign a cd booklet. He patiently waited while I fumbled for a pen that I couldn't find. Admitting I had nothing for him to write with he said, "You got to be prepared!"

The Marsh/Konitz Storyville set Two Not One for $13.99 using the Borders 50% coupon yesterday.

Years ago it was "Singin' in the Rain".........unfortunately the Clockwork Orange version.

A bunch more $1.99 and $2.99 plus shipping ojc's from Newbury via amazon. Three stood out at $1.99 that may soon be considered rare.....Folk Jazz.....Sonny's Dream.......Music to Listen to Red Norvo by......and All Members. Many others too. I select "advanced search" put in "ojc" or the specific title and choose from low to high price.

I'm sure Good's employer wouldn't be proud of his posts here. His loss of composure might give them pause about who gets responsibility for teaching others to teach. It certainly doesn't reflect well on who they hire.

I started collecting CDs very hesitantly...
TedR replied to The Magnificent Goldberg's topic in Miscellaneous Music
My late father bought a cd player before I did.....in 1990 I believe. The first cd I bought him was Stan Getz Plays. After that I kept buying him those cut out Blue Notes that were around. As I write I'm playing the first one of those I gave dad.....Tony Williams' Spring. (The cd is from 1985 and still sounds pretty good.)Not his type of music but he loved it because the medium was so new. He could play 5 cds at a time without having to flip over and clean vinyl records. Perfect for the retiree who liked to entertain. Gift giving from then on was easy and lots of fun. I got my first player in 1992 (I'm not sure but it may have been the Marantz 5 cd changer that just stopped playing last year.) My first cd was Charlie Haden's Quartet West Haunted Heart. Over the next 2 years I filled up a 250 cd shelf. That was the start. All the reissues with unreleased bonus tracks were too tempting. I'm too lazy to inventory but, between cd's and box sets, maybe 2500 cds now. -

I still can't believe what I was seeing. I mean I can (almost)see how she lowered herself to get the apple......but I can't fathom how strong she had to be to raise herself back up! I assume they were circus performers?
