I don't understand. I'm sure he meant it figuratively, but what seems ridiculous is to summarize all the forum posts here as looking for album covers with dust and coffee stains. Something, by the way, that specifically has never been posted. To write "I'm outa here" and "remove all traces of me" is oddly over dramatic, especially when it's happened before. If you can't quietly ignore posts and subjects that have no interest or appeal to you, then publicly commenting is a call for attention by inviting a response. Unless being recognized and appreciated is important to someone, anyone can always read and enjoy (or not) this forum as a guest or anonymously or just quietly move on. Personally I've received a lot from Chris' posts over the years. But it's not worth his suffering over.

As a previous reader of the BNBB and an occasional (at best) poster here, the announced closing of the Jazzcorner site made me realize what a huge void I'd have w/o the Organissimo forums. The work of Jim to start this and keep it going, the moderators and the participants here is tremendously appreciated and important to me.

The Tribe is in the middle of a major slump. Their bullpen, as aloc said above, is falling apart. Without them, I don't think the team can work themselves out of it.

Which Mosaic Are You Enjoying Right Now?
TedR replied to Soulstation1's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Louis Prima/Wingy Manone. CD 1 & 2. -
3 run walk off HR in the bottom of the 10th to sweep Seattle!!!!! (Helped by some bad errors by Seattle.)
-
The Tribe just keeps on rolling. 17 out of the last 21. Waiting for the inevitable slump but, for now, it sure is fun.

PM sent on the In A Silent Way box.

Gillian Anderson also was impressive as Miss Haversham (sp?) in a recently televised Great Expectations.

Are there any box bargains currently available?
TedR replied to GA Russell's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
That Mahavishnu box price is fantastic, and it has 2+ discs of live MO. and I don't care. Huh? -
8 - 0 right now over Tampa Bay though. Masterson's retired ten straight. (Don't want to curse em though.) Edit to say 10 - 0 now. Two HRs from Mark Reynolds.

Thanks for the bump since I missed this each year since your original post 4 years ago. Loved when he started laughing out of character (along with whoever was off camera) after the first mention of frothy urine. And the one cough from the puppet. Hilarious (what appears to be) improv.

My eyesight isn't what it used to be. Could you print that a little bigger for us old guys?

I swear SC is a project put together by the Onion. :-)

How long did yours take to arrive. Still waiting for a shipping notice a week later. I went on to my account and the status was "back ordered". Not impressed so far. HDwow still advertises the set for $15.99 with 7-10 days for shipping. Nothing about being a back ordered product. I ordered the same day as cloninmce and just received a shipping notice. It is now once again listed as in stock for the same price, $15.99 or €11.99 through their EU sites. I also just received a "despatch notification". I'll have to be more patient next time. Looking forward to hearing this. -
It looks like cats are getting their asses kicked in this poll. :-)

I'm gonna have a drink of my "fiber therapy" now.

As an owner of two dogs (Cavalier Spaniels) this is very cute and is close to what my wife and I experience most every morning. I say "owner" but they are definitely members of the family.

Makes sense to me. I have three cats and no irons. I don't even golf... Ha Ha! And I bet at least one of your cats is fat. I Smedley objects to your comment... As an animal lover, my apologies to Smedley.......:-)

I know this thread is about cats/dogs and not Monopoly but the iron should have been replaced with a gold or silver bar. Iron has little value.........especially with all the wrinkle resistant fabrics available now.
-
Evidently cats should win the poll. The cat is the new token replacing the iron in Monopoly. Though there is a dog token too. But why mess with a classic game?

Are you sure that's not Bo Derek?

In today's paper was this quote about Paige: "In his prime, Paige said he had two overpowering fastballs, one he named 'Long Tommy', which he said had supersonic speed, and the other 'Little Tommy', which he said was merely unhittable. A third pitch was called the 'Bee Ball' because he said 'it would be where I want it to be.'"

Albums it took you a while to start enjoying
TedR replied to JazzLover451's topic in Recommendations
John Coltrane's Newport '63. A close neighbor of ours died from a difficult illness. Soon after I played this album. Coltrane was playing just what I was feeling. I needed to hear it. Since then my ears were open to the artistry of Coltrane's later years. -
I may be unaware of the latest trends but I thought nerdy was the new "cool". Just look at those big ole horn rimmed glasses the pro athletes are wearing as well as the fact that "nerds" are today's success story. I thought the Black Keys drummer was a trend setter. No comment on the music.
