    Sundazed

We all know what a great label Water is, but what about Sundazed? Just listening to the unreleased Spirit sondtrack, The Model Shop- and what a great blast from the past it is, after Family that Plays Together but before, and partially superceded, by Clear,What a fabulous band they were in their original incarnation, ie before Californias accident and pre Kapt Kopter, a really succesful rock /jazz fusion. And Sundazed have also released a live Youngbloods album which I have not yet heard, . Öther appreciations or am I alone? They also have the great Euphoria imprint devoted to jazz guitar slingers, but that seems to have been dormant on cd for a while.........
  2. Bit late I know, but a useful definition of the lurgy would be Galloping Spot Rot. ( and yes, I am a Londoner, notwithstanding my current domicile.)
  3. Actually, an appropriate answer to the question `What do you do?´would be: `´Anything that keeps my flagging career in the limelight´. That she doesnt remember May is hillarious considering his roll in the absurd 50 year jubilee pop show where many of these well past sell date rock stars were last seen outside their mansions!
  4. I dont know this stuff but in the current Jazz Review from England he jokes that it may be called Song XX cos its the 20th anniversary of its release. Actually I have become interested in him for the first time on the basis of this article, he makes astute and interesting comments about horn players and seems very generous when reviewing other guitarists.
  5. Frankly, I do not give a toss. What is disturbing to me is that these 4 were actually prepared to grovel and meet her! Pathetic.
  6. Hmmm, this is the Select which made least impression on me when it arrived, played through it a couple of times ( I had never heard any of the material before) and then it drifted into the heap of other new stuff and eventualy it got filed away, this thread has got me curious again, tis for tonights playlist! Thanks for whetting my appetite!
  7. Thanks Jazzbo One for the wants list.
  8. Jazzbo, I would be interested in more info about the Baby Huey, I have been eying that one up along with the Patty Waters...

    Gilad Atzmon

Che, Depends, do you find that Hegel helps to illuminate and increase the relvance and enjoyment of Jazz? Do Adornos writings make Jazz more or less interesting? In a recent Jazz Review interview he does say that people tend to take his comments too seriously, an understandable error I would say having read his earnest contributions! And he rubbishes Zorns Radical Jewish Music imprint. Must say however that I have enjoyed what I have heard of him so far,(Tho not yet sure if he is the cats pyjamas...)
  11. I got Behind the 8 Ball and Mo Rock from Hiroshi at Early records last year.
  12. Z man, Let me know if you still need this and I can help you out, best tho is if someone Stateside can help.....
  13. .....or before I die!
  14. Try to keep off at work, but I check in in the morning before leaving home and then a couple of times in the evening, weekends much more!
  15. Brads advice seems like your best bet, I was able to get a stack of Bethlehems from Hiroshi about 6 months ago.

    Marion Brown

The new ESP website notes that they will shortly rerelease a remastered first album with a previously unreleased 18 (!) minute track.
  18. Had both the Don Cherry Sonets on a twofer some time back but since I let them go pretty quickly I must assume I didnt find them too earth shaking. The Live in Ankara looked appealing but i think I found it appall ing!
  19. oooops, just dug up the Abraxus version of a Marion Brown Quartet and there on the goofy horizontal obi thing is a picture of the college tour cd, so that at least was issued in Italy. And hey, whats the recent Water cd like?
  20. The german reissues put out by zyx deffinitely had the first Patty Waters album. Not sure about Calibre in the Netherlands, I think not. And then there are the 2 Italian programmes, Get Back on vinyl and Abraxus on cd. Forced Exposure used to list the latter programme....Hope that helps.
  21. Pony Canyon put the Time albums out as late as last year. I am sure there is a thread about that reissue progamme somewhere, I know I was excited about the prospect of finally getting hold of these records.
  22. Another dream come true....I love this series, good price too.
  23. 98?, Andrew Hill and Sam Rivers, then I missed the Larry Young and Jackie. but I got them from Crazy Jazz in England, took me a long while till I started buying direct.
