In my opinion Rudy's remasering of the Monk, Jackson, Davis et al disc and tape material he did not record is the best sounding cds of the material.

I noticed that Dusty Groove got it in. .. (I didn't order it, I'm broke!) and they also had all four boxes of Jazz in Paris this weekend at 19.99!

Man, I've never seen that four cd set, I tried to find it for a long time, but it came out when the Davis estate was really clamping down on imports of Davis concerts. I did get all four discs separately in the excellent Sony/Trema digipak series of these concerts. Sounded better than other Europe 1 cds I had too. If you can find those they're very nice (even though their cover photos are a bit whack on a few).

I don't WANT to see Munich. I do want to see Kong. .. . I am convinced that Jackson's version will be eway better than the second one and in the spirit of the first. . . .

The only one I don't have of those is the Rockin' the Rhein. . . . DPs 19 and 20 would be good picks indeed!

I have the Condon. I"ve lived with the original lp for years. I love the session. The sound on the cd is more "ambient" ---more room sound, a more recessed presentation. I like that though after years of the original presentation it's a little unsettling. But if you weren't familiar with the lp it would be a great remastering and sound and it's a very cool performance. Extra material as well, a good slab of it. The songs are from the repretoire of the OJDB mostly, but not done in OJDB style. Chicago style all the way!

I really like the Oslo performance. And the Holland. And. . . . Hmmmm. . . . I like them all!
