  1. Yes, YAL 984
  2. Very cool photo! I'll have to look for that cd, I bet the music is interesting. I'm not a Billy Joel fan, but I have a Sony Classical cd of solo piano music composed by Joel and played expertly by another and I really like it. Added: I found two cds, a long one by Wayne Tice, and a shorter (one sonata) cd by Nadine Shank. Couldn't find a copy of the Shank for sale, but did find the Tice and ordered it.
  3. This volume in the series is great--all either Commodore Records sides (I have all three of the Mosaic Records LP sets) or V-DISCS and every performance features Pee Wee Russell as a band member, and that's a great thing, plus lots of ERNIE CACERES!
  4. Yes, that's a cool cover--when Denon owned Savoy Records they released a cd with that cover.
  5. It cost me 3100 dollars, but it enabled me to sell another item significantly defraying that cost, and move my stock DSD to improve another system. I bought it from a fellow PS Audio DSD owner via the PS Audio forum, who had decided to move to an even more expensive DAC.

  8. Looking forward to more "Marvelous Mrs. Maizel" tonight. I love how delighted my wife is with this show.
  9. Re-playing this very good sounding disc, in part because I like Spalding's involvement and in part because Harrell's trumpet sound always reminds me of that of my best friend in Texas, Dave Laczko, a fine trumpeter and human being. Tom Harrell "Colors of a Dream" Highnote cd Alto Saxophone – Jaleel Shaw Bass – Esperanza Spalding, Ugonna Okegwo Drums – Johnathan Blake Escoffery Trumpet, Flugelhorn – Tom Harrell Vocals – Esperanza Spalding
  10. My latest joy is a PS Audio DirectStream DAC that has the Edcor transformer mod, the EMF blocking mod, and an outboard power supply analog board mod with a Farad Super3 power supply. Wow. Nothing like a great source. . . made greater.
  11. Sad news. I've corresponded with him and he was a fine man. My best to all his family and friends.
  12. Tom Harrell "Colors of a Dream" Highnote cd Alto Saxophone – Jaleel Shaw Bass – Esperanza Spalding, Ugonna Okegwo Drums – Johnathan Blake Escoffery Trumpet, Flugelhorn – Tom Harrell Vocals – Esperanza Spalding

  14. Bob Dylan "Tell Tale Signs--The Bootleg Series Volume 8" Sony Japan edition, disc 1 I keep returning to this set (I also have the third disc from the US set I bought separate from the 3 cd edition). Just amazing music and sonic presentation (in my opinion).
