  1. I can almost imagine how they sound! Kudos for building those yourself. I too am an audiophile. . . but I have so many recordings I have to store many of them in a climate-controlled storage space. . . it's about the music to me ultimately.
  2. Perhaps amazon.co.jp has decided to not source these going forward. Looking at a few of these titles on cdjapan.co.jp still shows them "available from supplier." It could be that there was an availability limit on this series (there sometimes/often is on Japanese releases, a set date when they may be no longer available) and amazon Japan may not reorder after that date. I don't know. Though it wouldn't surprise me that they may not be available for too much longer, they seem to be able to be ordered elsewhere.
  3. Yes, he also spent about a decade and a half with Dave Holland. All the cats in this edition of the SFJazz Collective are worth hearing.
  4. Miles Davis "At Carnegie Hall" electronically re-channeled for stereo Columbia LP. Yeah, fake stereo. Still sounds pretty good as it has for the many years I've had this one. Quite a night! There's another whole Lp's worth that is also great music.

  8. 20 tracks with Pee Wee Russell--the good stuff.
  9. Doug Carn "Infant Eyes" Black Jazz/Real Gone Music cd. Every time I play a Doug Carn on this label I think "This is my favorite." Truth is I love them all.
  10. Thanks for the info. I ordered the set from dustygroove this morning.
  11. SFJazz Collective "Music of Miles Davis & Original Compositions" disc 2 This disc 2 of original compositions is one of my favorite from the Collective's released work.
  12. That's the way I feel about most modern vinyl reissues. I spend my money elsewhere. The Lost Recordings cds can be found reasonably priced, or at least I did.
  13. Jackie & Roy "Bits & Pieces and Free & Easy - 1957 Sessions" Fresh Sounds cd
  14. The Terry Meyers Orchestra "A Tribute to Benny Goodman"

  17. I was surprised how much I like the Jackson covers, and the original compositions material is excellent. I've enjoyed all the editions of this collective.
  18. Hope you are digging it.
  19. Needed something a little mellower after that Griffin! Coleman Hawkins "Good Old Broadway" JVC XRCD
  20. Johnny Griffin "The Little Giant" JVC XRCD Been a long time since I played this SWINGER.
  21. I don't believe English is their first language.
  22. Keith Jarrett Trio "Yesterdays" ECM cd
  23. Donald Byrd and Barney Wilen "Jazz in Camera" Sonorama cd Unreleased soundtrack album of an aborted film project, produced July 1958 by Sandro Bocola and Dennis Bailey in Paris. Bass – Doug Watkins Drums – Al Levitt Guitar – Jimmy Gourley Piano – Walter Davis Tenor Saxophone – Barney Wilen Trumpet – Donald Byrd
  24. I really like the Jobim and Wonder tours, as well as the Silver and Miles Davis. But to be honest the "Original Compositions" discs in any of the tour releases are well worth hearing. There is a two cd set compiling Miguel Zenon's original composition performances that is excellent.
