  1. Helen Merrill Featuring Stan Getz ‎"Just Friends" Emarcy cd This is a masterpiece. "It Don't Mean a Thing" is just amazing. Bass – Jean-François Jenny-Clark* Drums – Daniel Humair Piano – Joachim Kühn, Torrie Zito Tenor Saxophone – Stan Getz Vocals – Helen Merrill
  2. Envied this on other forum and now I get to envy it again. I actually love my equipment but I sure wish I could have a room like that!
  3. Charles Mingus "Tijuana Moods" Classic Records Gold cd
  4. I think I have one, Tyrone Washington "Natural Essence." Strangely it sounds a lot like the first TOCJ cd does. (Well, that strangely was ironic--my guess is that cd is the source for the LP).
  5. "The Governor--The Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra plays Duke Ellington" Storyville cd Quite like this.
  6. Miles Davis Quintet, "The Unissued Japanese Concerts" bootleg 2 cd set, disc 2
  7. Thelonious Monk "Genius of Modern Music Volume 1" TOCJ Blue Note 24 bit by RVG cd Japan. Still my favorite digital version to listen to.

    Mingus in Mono

Good news about the sound! My copies of the Mingus material won't arrive til the end of January or the beginning of February because I added to the order several discs coming out later in January to save on shipping.
  9. And now "Cookin' at the Plugged Nickel" Miles Davis, Sony cd. This is expanded from the US LP version by adding "No Blues." http://www.kind-of-blue.de/seiten/disco/cookin_srcs9731.htm
  10. Miles Davis "More Cookin' at the Plugged Nickel" Sony cd Though I have the box set in both American and Japanese editions, I often reach for this single cd which has great selections and great sound. http://www.kind-of-blue.de/seiten/disco/more_cookin_srcs_9754.htm
  11. All three of those volumes are great. . . I picked them up when released. I also feel Woods played quite well on the Monk tour a decade or so later.
  12. Bruno Cocset Bach Cello Suites
  13. Lafayette Gilchrist "Now" disc 2

    Billy Hart Corner

Sometimes Hart's drumming (as an ex-drummer drummers work sometimes draw my attention) bothers me. . . most recently on one of the last Bobby Hutcherson leader dates. Accents on the snare that I would expect to go down in pitch go up, and sometimes vice versa. He's a great player.
  15. There are services (DHL and I think a few others) that are shipping but at a cost. (I bundle!)
  16. Duke Ellington "Soul Call" Verve Japan cd
  17. Edu Lobo "Tempo Presente"
  18. Jerry Garcia/Merl Saunders "Garcia Live Volume 15" disc 1
  19. Miles Davis "Bootleg Series Vol. 5" Sony Blu-Spec CD2 version, disc 2 Followed by "The Phil Woods Quartet/Quintet 20th Anniversary Set" disc 5
  20. Barney Wilen Quartet featuring Tete Montolu "Barney and Tete: Grenoble '88" Elemental Music, 2 cd set. This is my second time through this set and I LOVE it.
  21. Bob Dylan "New Morning" Mobile Fidelity SACD. There's a lot of 1970 released via copyright extension set and forthcoming in a limited release, so I thought I better pull this one out. I've always loved this album. Followed by. . . . Miles Davis "Water Babies" Columbia/Sony cd (from the Complete Columbia Alubms box set).
  22. A masterpiece. Appreciated more and more with each listening. Tom Jobim "Matita Pere" Philips cd aka "Jobim" Verve
