  1. Moving across the country is an expensive pain in the ass.
  2. This inexpensive (17 dollars) 3 cd overview of the Adventure Music label is chock full of interesting tunes. Da Bastids say: A loving look at the Adventure Music label – served up in a 3CD set that offers a heck of a lot of great music for a very low price, all hand-picked by the lovely Monday Michiru! Adventure's been one of the best sources for Brazilian music and acoustic sounds for the past decade – a label with a really strong dedication to a few sorts of styles – like some of the best mixes of jazz, bossa, and choro modes recorded in Brazil – or the wonderful post-folk acoustic underground that's risen up in the US. The package really spans the full scope of the label's music – and offers up a whopping 44 tracks in all – all to introduce you to their efforts. Our hat's off to Monday for the track selection – and the package features work by Hamilton De Holanda, Ricardo Silveira, Daniel Santiago, Muiza Adnet, Mike Marshall, Jovino Santos Neto, Moacir Santos, Antonio Arnedo, Maria Marquez, Clarice Assad, Tom Lellis, Eva Scow, Gui Mallon, Toninho Horta, Florencia Ruiz, Alex Hargreaves, Philippe Baden Powell, and others! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
  3. Last week's was pretty good as well. I think they're going to go out with a bang.
  4. What does the fact that the T-shirt comes in extra large tell us, I wonder? It tells us that they're doing what all these "t-shirt" bundles do: offer only XL size. Which works for me, I like 'em loose.
  5. Well, that's far more accurate than what I said before. He does come through much better through my system than he does through my TV, I did check that out. You're right, he's sort of buried in the mix at times, but most of the time I can hear him. Some phenomenal bass playing on that disc! (On all four discs).
  6. Wish it were a cleaner copy. Amazing percussion sound and imaging.
  7. Whoa! Aired tonight were one of the best episodes of both Community and Person of Interest!
  8. Sorry for the big pic. Not the best mastering on this pressing. . . a bit strident, though swinging hard. But such great music.
  9. I'm watching some Rihanna videos, while listening to something else. What a beautiful woman!
  10. Have a great day! Many happy happy returns!
  11. Have a great one Mike and many happy returns!
  12. Buy some other stuff too, I think shipping is 5.95 no matter how many items yoiu buy.
  13. Hope it was a great one Sandy. Many happy returns!
  14. Many many happy returns!
  15. Have you played the guitar through other amps? I ask because I was all mad and upset with an amp for years being so noisey. . . turned out it was the guitar pick ups.
  16. Yes, I agree, it's better on disc. I have the Blu-ray set and have watched the whole series through about four times on the discs. Love this show!
  17. Good Wife was good this week, I missed the show. Love Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Shawn. Fun Stuff. I watched the first six episodes of Nip/Tuck Season One. And Continuum, which is getting better. And Castle which has been coasting but this two parter is a bit more exciting.
  18. Check out this post: Also on this search page: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!msg/rec.music.bluenote/PQPoejTqszM/gYqVy-xh3SMJ
  19. I'm aware Kevin. We're lucky that between the US and Europe and Japan nearly the entire label made it to cd in the last three decades.
  20. Hey maybe Jim IS a typical customer. That's how I see it too, though I confess I'll buy them as put out.
  21. You're taking about "Wayfaring Stranger" I presume. This is a good reissue. Part of this album was reissued by Blue Note some time back on their Steig albums compilation cd. I like Steig and I would suggest getting the Enja duo with Eddie Gomez "Outlaws," and the Japanese reissue cd "This is Jeremy Steig" that came out last year. When Cuscuna was over the BN reissue program, he had this practice of not pushing to put out albums that didn't sell well at the time of release as he believed that meant they wouldn't sell well as a cd reissue. He broke this practice often enough for artists he was personally very interested in the work of, and for some artists that are better known now than they were then and whose cds were selling. But this and many others just sat in the can.
