  1. Great music in those grooves!
  2. Pack it Up, from Pretenders II. Cranked this album up this weekend and it really socked me hard. Memories and body rushes and butt-shakingly so. Pack it Up just seems like a cathartic anthem for any new venture, an avalanch release of frustration. This track, and this album, I feel show how Chrissie Hynde had taken the Hendrix psychedelic-pop template and revitalized it at the close of 'seventies.
  3. In my opinion with the XRCDs the process does make a difference. Attention to all the different parameters pays off in a certain "sound."
  4. Same group plus Sam Jones according to: http://www.answers.com/topic/hootin-n-tootin-1
  5. Not a box set bargain, but a bargain for some interested parties. OJC cds are more often than not now offered for fulfillment on Amazon by Newbury Comics. Which means you can combine a lot of 3.99, 4.99, 5.99 etc. OJC discs and get free shipping, quite a bargain rather than paying 2.99 shipping on each.
  6. The Japanese version sounds great, is a beautiful gatefold lp facsimile (hard cardboard) and I don't play this that often. I have the Weston in Japanese form as well, but it's an earlier version in jewel case, I figure this new one will be an upgrade.
  7. Inventions&Dimensions for me. I play this one not as much, but it's the most interesting.
  8. Another Amerotke mystery. These are good, but his crown jewel is the trilogy about the Amarna period.
  9. Now they're talking. I'm down for the Farrell and Weston; I have the Airto in Japanese form.
  10. Many many happy happy returns!
  11. Veronica Mars was a great series. . . I missed it on broadcast, but have the dvd sets. Buffy. . . well I really have an aversion to vampire and zombie and demon stuff. . . I can only watch a little once in a blue moon. Concentrated doses in that show just keeps me from getting into it. Right now I'm watching Leverage Season Three and Weeds Season Six.
  12. Maybe one day they'll reissue this with some of the additional tracks and material that were recorded. That would be sweet!
  13. Perhaps the earthquake, tidal waves and nuclear reactor problems have had an impact. The XRCD machinery is very limited and if I'm not mistaken all releases go through the same chain of mastering and pressing and there could be a backlog.
  14. Many many happy returns!
  15. I ride both with and without a helmet, and have been in accidents both with and without a helmet (the worse accident of the two, that required hospitalization, was with a helmet--a broken arm dangerously close to the wrist). I was insured both times, both with auto and health insurance. Both times the driver at fault's insurance (which was not me and mine) paid all costs. Yeah I know I should have a helmet on all the time. I rode for years without a helmet, not one single accident. Most of the time now I wear a helmet. It's hard when it's 100 degrees and over 100 as it's been about 30 days straight now! I rode motorcycles since 1977 with a break between 1990 and 2007, and for all but three of those years the motorcycle was my only vehicle. So many many hours and miles.
  16. HawnthRNe. A good show I didn't start watching til this season.
  17. Many many happy returns!

  20. When I was just finally getting a little dry behind the ears playing drums and involved in the first band I was a part of I worked with two young women who were night flies and had drinking problems, and we'd follow the Angela Strehli band and the Lou Ann Barton band from club to club, and I spent half the night dancing with one or the other of them. After a while I was asked by other gals to dance now and then which was a huge thing for me. I took the opportunity to dance close to the stage and watch the drummers. I really learned so much on that dance-floor especially from the amazing drummer George Rains. I really thank the opportunity to have those friends to dance with, I would hardly have become the mediocre dancer I am without them. With me it's mainly footwork, I sort of think of the dance beat as a high-hat/bass drum thing and my feet respond accordingly. The rest of me just sort of goes along for the ride. That spell was broken after about eighteen months. Traci lost her job when she was busted drinking at work, and went on to become a topless dancer for a year and one night according to witnesses just ran out onto the freeway in front of the club into oncoming traffic. When Traci lost her job, Christi started trying to be more responsible, and had actually been out of a drying out clinic for two months when Traci died. That was a very sad time. I still include Traci at times in my infrequent prayers. She was a beautiful kind woman who deserved much better. Been a while since I've been out dancing in a club, probably five years ago was the last time Helen and I cut a rug. I do dance in the house sometimes with my lovely Anadina.
  21. The second episode of the Leverage Season Three dvd set. I keep chuckling because the team is trying to crack a super security system. . . "the Steranko." Every time they mention Steranko I get a laugh.
  22. With cream and honey. I'm going to try it sometime.
  23. Many many happy returns C! Funny, early this morning I was listening to a cd released by two friends of mine, the guitar and trumpet duo WD-41!
