I think it's very close to the time that Fresh Sound starts reissuing Gibbs lps in two lps per cd or three lps on two cd sets.

Anyone who has this set . . . the initial batch had a defective disc four, "Laughing on the Outside." The defect is that it does not contain two proper bonus tracks, other tracks are substituted. There is a replacement disc, and Jim Lane of Sony is THE MAN for this disc. I emailed him for one on Friday, received it today. It sounds good but. . . I like the RVG as much or a bit better. I know that RVGs aren't popular among audiophiles, but many of them sound really good on my system.

The Sanders. . . I like them. They're not the wildest, if that's a consolation. But if you weren't really jazzed by the others, these aren't going to make a convert out of you.

Welcome to the club James. Damnation is an amazing album, it was the first one (via DVD) that I marveled at, and it's still my favorite.

The latest Black Saint/Soul Note boxes are finally shipping from amazon.fr. Prices seem pretty bargainy to me.

"Ysabel's Table Dance" This is such a fantastic album. Every listen, year after year, I still get drawn into the energy, imagination and stellar arranging.

Yes, though I began reading Dick about a decade before that (I read my first one in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 1967 or so, "The Zap Gun") I was delighted to see so many spring into print. I've read everything except a few of the volumes of letters, and the children's book. In a way, I like the mainstream novels the best, perhaps "The Man Whose Teeth Were all Alike" or "Mary and the Giant" are my two favorites.
