  1. Yes, it's falling short of the mark somehow. I'm not analyzing it much, just enjoying for what it's worth and something to watch on Tuesday night. Don't feel about it the way I do other shows by Abrams such as Lost and Alias.
  2. Now wastching "Fringe," It's back after the holiday hiatus.

I bet John Thomas is a sideman on one of these.
  4. Good one Allen. The sound is fine on the OJC cd.

  6. Ah. Apparently that has NOT happened!
  7. My immediate thought was "did he send the wrong MP3?"
  8. I agree Michel. There are some very homey photos of the Hackensack home in the Herbie Nichols box set (Blue Note).
  9. Great stuff. This material was out on cd in Japan, and in fact one of the lps sounds much better in the Japanese cd version than on the Mosaic.
  10. Yes, by OJC and then I believe JVC for XRCD and other Japanese releases. Probably now out of print, doesn't show up on the Concord site.
  11. It IS depressing to be looking forward to MP3s. Blue Note/EMI has been offering some releases on iTunes fro some time.
  12. PM answered Pete. Thanks.
  13. Bump just in case anyone is interested
  14. I happen to think "Purple Rain" is a fantastic soundtrack. . . .
  15. And Blue Note can't provide? What a whack business relationship.
  16. Many happy happy returns!
  17. Many many more happy returns!
  18. The Landscapes that I have (Charles Mingus European concerts, don't tell Sue) are definitely boots.
  19. We have a winner!
  20. Just my opinion, but this set bored me, so if you already have a "fair bit of it," that's probably all you need. Well, let me just say that this set is one of my favorite Selects. It grew on me, and I now consider it a great body of work. There is much here that doesn't come out and slap you in the face, but woos you over time. Very interesting new takes on older material, very mellow and swinging playing.
  21. Amazingly good news Bruce! Thanks for sharing.
  22. Thanks Chuck.
