  1. Many many many happy returns!
  2. Right, I picked that one up summer 2007 (a horrible time for me, but great swinging music was a help). Quite a nice release including material hard or impossible to find on cd elsewhere.
  3. Many more happy happy happy ones!
  4. Hah, that's a good one. Best chuckle I've had all day!
  5. Yes, Welcome!
  6. It looks as if the Braxton and Toshiko/Lew will be shipping very soon, got an email notice that they are "new releases."
  7. Many many happy happy returns!
  8. Yet another demonstration of why THIS board is like NO OTHER, and I do mean NO other.
  9. If you're at all open to Voutey, the Gaillards are all three very fine. I also really like the Goodman/Hasselgard.
  10. Have a wonderful one and many happy returns!
  11. I've listened to one disc and read the booklet. There's not a bad entry in this series, this is another excellent one. Great sonics. I'd love to have the third disc, but not going to spend a C note to get it . . . don't really need the singles books fraid to say. Here's what's on the third disc in the deluxe edition: Disc: 3 1. Duncan & Brady 3:47 (Unreleased, 1992) 2. Cold Irons Bound 5:57 (Live at Bonnaroo, 2004) 3. Mississippi 6:24 (Unreleased version #3, Time Out of Mind) 4. Most of the Time 5:10 (Alternate version #2, Oh Mercy) 5. Ring Them Bells 3:18 (Alternate version, Oh Mercy) 6. Things Have Changed 5:32 (Live, June 15, 2000, Portland, OR) 7. Red River Shore 7:08 (Unreleased version #2, Time Out of Mind) 8. Born in Time 4:19 (Unreleased version #2, Oh Mercy) 9. Tryin' to Get to Heaven 5:10 (Live, October 5, 2000, London, England) 10. Marchin' to the City 3:39 (Unreleased version #2, Time Out of Mind) 11. Can't Wait 7:24 (Alternate version #2, Time Out of Mind) 12. Mary and the Soldier 4:23 (Unreleased, World Gone Wrong)
  12. That's pretty much how I hear it too. This morning: Joe Pass, disc 5
  13. Apparently this 'deal' is still going on - according to an e-mail I received today. Still going on today (CMG code).
  14. Up is the direction you're going in CT! I think you're going to slowly start consolidating and getting solid.
  15. Great book Zanones, isn't it? I have this too, and the only book I have like it is Eddie Condon's "Scrapbook."
  16. I don't know how this affects me really. I hope that my state pension is safe. I hope that my dwindling savings in a credit union is safe. I own my house and am scared by my property taxes but oh well. I have a brand new motorcycle, paid for. I feel luckyl I hope that the economy slowly or quickly gets better for everyone.

    Marty Grosz

I would say for the pure Grosz experience, get either "Songs I Learned at My Mother's Knee and Other Low Joints" or "Left to his Own Devices". . . both are great. You really can't go wrong, but he's really strong on these two.
  18. Mine's in the mail, the regular version (too much money for the other, just like the KOB reissue).
  19. The Marty Grosz Mosaic. No, wait a minute, it just seems like a Mosaic set because I have about six discs in front of me. That Hodes set (I have the cd set) is fantastic!
  20. Many more happy happy returns!
  21. Hi Shaft! I think you'll really enjoy this set. I can totally understand how listening to the London House set would spur this purchase. . . wow, that's a good one.
  22. JETman bought it and he's happy with the set. But then he's addicted to box sets. I think this is a silly set. I've resisted it. If someone were to buy me one for Christmas, I'd smile as wide as I could. . . .
  23. I finally watched this on dvd. Well, definitely better than the Reeves movies, which I never enjoyed. Still. . . I guess I'm just not a Superman fan, always been the lamest of the comics for me. . . .Nicely done movie, but didn't excite me. Ah well!
