  1. I'm going to tonight's Yoshi's show WITH Coryell. Hoping it will be a little more inspiring than last night's show apparently was. BTW, Friday's show was originally billed with Julian Coryell in the guitar chair.
  2. Maybe because you wouldn't be able to print a label on one side?
  3. I decided to buy into the $25 plan. Seems reasonable enough to be able to have all that stuff available in the cloud. Nice to have the ability to store an unlimited number of other types of files, too.
  4. Who needs new registrations, anyway? We don't need no newbies!
  5. When I saw them at Yoshi's last year, he sat in on a few tunes.
  6. I need to get it - it DOES sound great.
  7. Upcoming this week: Thursday - The Iguanas Saturday - Larry Coryell, Joey Defrancesco, Jimmy Cobb
  8. Are you going? MG Don't think so.
  9. GOT to be Space Ritual. Not that I know it, but I know OF it. I vaguely remember seeing them in '74. I was working at the college radio station in Santa Barbara and for some reason we got tickets to see them in Santa Monica. Not only were the tickets free, but they supplied a free bus ride to the show (about 100 miles away). The whole experience was surreal ... and I wasn't tripping - REALLY!
  10. Coming to Yoshi's Sept 7-9 as a "guest" with the Javon Jackson Band

  12. Lots of stuff on Amazon, including some very reasonable prices on downloads, if you're interested.

    Mekons

Yeah the one I have been listening to isn't really country, but it is somehow derived from the principles, ethos and soundworld of country... As I said........"country-ish"
  14. VERY nice! (although not the metal spine versions)

    Mekons

For the country-ish sound, Jon's Waco Brothers might be even a better choice. A great live show, too!

    Mekons

I guess the Mekons discussion is over, right?
  17. Whoa! The Eleventh House meets McDonald & Giles! Quite a new direction for SW.

    Mekons

A friend turned me on to them several years ago. While I haven't see the Mekons themselves, I've seen Langford in various solo incarnations countless times. Never fails to entertain. He's an accomplished artist, too. Exhibits and sells his work through the Yard Dog Gallery in Austin. Great little place, BTW, if you happen to be in that town. Also has amazing 'back yard' concerts during South by Southwest every year.
  19. I haven't heard this album in YEARS, but I remember picking it up when it came out because it was so different from what he had released before. I liked it at the time.
  20. Why don't you read up on the site first. About Us
