I just scrolled through his Facebook page and there's no mention of any upcoming release at all. My guess is that this is some sort of reissue (maybe gray market?). My best friend knows him pretty well and I've met him a few times. Nice guy.

I saw a similar lineup (w/Flo & Eddie) in 71 at Pauley Pavillion, UCLA when they recorded "Just Another Band from L.A." After the Hot Rats disappointment, I'd have to see what's in this set before thinking about getting it.

Very cool! The Jazz Loft Project was very interesting and well-researched, too.

I picked up Plugged Nickel while it was still in print. A friend of mine works for Sony and was able to get me a discount from the company store.

The Gil Evans is the only one I don't have. I was going to order it, but realized I probably didn't originally because of the number of Alt Takes.

I thought those Mercury albums were pretty good. They came and went really fast, if I remember correctly. The songwriting seemed more focused than on many of his other albums.

Excellent live album

I'm planning on buying an album or two on Friday. It's a good way to get $$ directly into the hands of the musicians. Also this: "But the pandemic and its impact on the music community aren’t over, so on May 1, June 5, and July 3 (the first Friday of each month), we’re waiving our revenue share for all sales on Bandcamp, from midnight to midnight PDT on each day."

Of course it's great, and it's a classic ... but this recent box set is mind blowing!

This Rhino box was pretty good, although I haven't listened to it in a long time.

Sounds like he's doing OK. I went to his last broadcast game - it was against the Giants here in SF. The gave him a VERY nice send-off.

This 2014 release is surprisingly good. Lots of energy.
