  1. I streamed 3 tracks that were available and was disappointed. She's a great drummer, but the tunes sounded like generic fusion (w/vocals), even the one with Carlos on guitar.
  2. Should be pretty interesting!
  3. Sadly, that's all very true. So many obstacles to getting live music back.
  4. Got that email yesterday. Had no idea it was being released. I have an ancient bootleg on yellow vinyl of mediocre quality (as most were in the early 70s) that I haven't listened to in decades. A lot of jamming, IIRC. The only footage I've seen was tacked on to the end of the Rainbow Bridge film. At $30 this was a no-brainer to pre-order. Looking forward to it!
  5. Out today. Could be interesting. Willner's last project.
  6. Small venues of all types are in real danger. They're obviously going to be the LAST places to be allowed to open. Issues with close crowds, questionable ventilation, thorough dish cleaning and bar hygiene - plus how do you isolate singers, especially in a rock venue. It's going to be VERY complicated until there is a trusted vaccine.
  7. I thought about getting this. I liked that era of FM and saw them a couple of times with Welch. But when I thought about it, I probably wouldn't listen to these albums more than a couple of times now. Would really like to hear the live disk, though.
  8. A 2009 album led by Bernard Sumner of New Order. Sounds like a more commersh version of that band. Some good pop tunes.
  9. Alright! I'll start with disk 2.
  10. I have that, but never got around to listening to it much. Maybe this weekend.
  11. Here's a FB post from 6 hours ago by Annette: "Now it appears the reports on Gary's death are a hoax, which indeed would be good news!"
  12. Picked these up yesterday: We Have Amnesia Sometimes, by Yo La Tengo Michael Gregory Jackson's SIGNAL! Live EP!, by Michael Gregory Jackson The Fantastic Mrs. 10, by TIM BERNE'S SNAKEOIL Even Better, by MICHAEL FORMANEK VERY PRACTICAL TRIO with Tim Berne and Mary Halvorson
  13. Still haven't seen a confirmation either way. FB folks are telling both sides of the story.
  14. Never listened to this one before. Streaming this recent box set.
  15. Got it! Yeah - Smoke. I can't keep track anymore.

  17. I should try to catch Murray tomorrow night.
  18. Definitely! Saw them once, in 1982. I think it was their first US tour (maybe their only one?)
  19. I saw the first one a couple of months ago with Billy Hart's quartet. I thought the video and audio were both very good.
